HelloWe will be taking a trip into MPTO/Tocumen International this upcoming week and also will go into MPDA/Enrique Malek International-City of David Airport. We will be flying a B-200 King Air. Any tips, recommendations for either of these places? Off-duty sights/tourism to see?thanks!

MPTO is pretty straight forward, no surprises, handling is OK, if a little on the slow side, they do have a tendency to dissapear and leave you stranded on the exec ramp but eventually return. Be sure to wear full pilots uniform with epaulets, etc as it makes getting back through security a lot easier.

I stayed at the Panama Marriott, which is excelent, centrally located and within walking distance of many good restaurants. Just be sure to observe common sense precautions when going out. There aren't any beaches in Panama city, but a trip to see the Mira Flores locks at the canal is worth while as well a trip to see the old city. If you have enough time (which I didn't) you can arrange a tour to see the rain forest.

Have fun!

Lived and flew in Panama for years. Specifically why are you going into MPTO and MPMG? MPMG is much closer to the city. In the city you can go to the locks, plenty of resturants night life near Hotel Panama. Most resturants are pretty good and safe. Been to many be clueless on names! Josephines strip club! LOL Good luck on David, not a whole lot there, however if you have a rental and a few hours make sure do go up to Vulcan or Boquette, absolutely awesome up in the mountains there.
