Well, my other half lives in Canada and it appers they won't be able to enter anytime soon. They have something on their record and were denied entry. ugh.

So, I'm looking at moving there. What is involved with moving my pilots license to Canada? Is there an easy/direct route or do I basically start over?

Seeing that you only have a PPL, it's not too big a deal to convert. You'll have to do a few hours to get up to Transport Canada flight standards (which in general, are more strict than in the FAA at every level), and some of your experience requirements for the FAA ticket don't satisfy TC. Perhaps a groundschool to brush up on Canadian regs is in order. You will have to take the written test, and it's not cake-walk: as in REAL tests, you don't know the answers going in! Your medical won't count, and you'll need a radio operator's license.
