How do you go about mounting a camera to the outside of an airplane? Id like to get some video from the wing strut or tail like you see in a lot of movies and in magazines.

Thanks

Duct tape

Ok, so how you mount it can vary from 100mph tape to sophisticated brackets. I think I will try duct tape and zip ties.

Are there any rules concerning it? Checked by a mechanic so its safe for flight? Since its "attached" to the airframe any weight & balance issues?

Thanks for the input

We had a camera mounted on the outside of the plane at a dropzone I worked a few years ago. I'm not sure the process that it went through for certification and things of that nature. The dropzone is not operating anymore and I don't have the number of the guy who made the system for us. It was a pretty slick system that had both video and still cameras and worked well for de-briefing students after their jump.

Best of luck finding something though. It can be done.
