Vintage Airplane Destroyed

According to the Associated Press, Juneau police are investigating an unusual case of suspected drunken driving.

Police say a man lost control of his pickup truck and plowed into a vintage aircraft parked at Juneau International Airport. Twenty-seven-year-old Stanley Johnson was arrested yesterday Sunday morning and charged with DUI.

Juneau Police Officer Tom Bates says Johnson's pickup truck left the roadway and traveled down a shallow embankment. The truck crashed through an airport fence and struck the parked aircraft.

The plane was a 1946 Cessna 120.
Police say it's a total loss.
Sets of float plane floats on both sides of the plane were also damaged. Police estimate damage at 40-thousand dollars.
