I was bored the other day and was wondering if there were more 50 seat ERJs or CRJs running around. Anyone know for sure?

According to Planespotters.net, there are 1315 CRJ-100/200 still active, and 908 ERJ-145s still active.

Expanding it to include the smaller ERJ-140 and 135 makes it 1221 airplanes in service.

So the short answer is I believe there are more CRJs worldwide.
