Many may have seen the small article in Tue's USA Today's Money section. Check out www.us-cockroach.com. It may not come up on MSN so do a Yahoo or some other search for "us-cockroach". These guys are pissed. The WO should wear these pins to symbolize the "second-class" treatment we get.

Second Class

US Airways has furloughed 1748 pilots with 79 more to come early this year - Over 30% of their pilot group will be on the street, with hire-dates back in the mid 1980s.

Pilots who have worked there for over 30 years are having their pension plans terminated on March 31st. They dont have time to make up what is being taken away from their retirement before they turn 60.

The airline is asking for extensions before it can come out of bankruptcy. Should ALPA elect to strike in opposition of the company's plan to terminate the retirement, then US Airways will most likely be liquidated.

The wholly-owneds are fortunate to even exist right now. There are people out there with far greater problems than your lack of a shiny-new regional jet to fly.
