Spaceman,
Yes, U may be only 30% of the revenue for MESA,, but look at some other facts. Although both U and UAL are losing money right now, the trend at UAL is negative. At least at U, they generally seem to be losing less per quarter as time goes on. A much better position to be in.

Personally, I would love to se UAL crater, and crater HARD! 'Course, when that happens, I would not like to be Skypest, Mesup, T-States, NO-JETS(Rat-Bastards), or any other company tied to UAL with that much capital.

Rekks

Of course U loses less each quarter in $. Because they keep shrinking! Right know they are mothballing another 10 planes as we speak. Obviously the smaller they get the less they will lose.

Ahhh you mean those jobs flying those little bitty planes that were beneath the mainline pilots to fly when they had the chance? you mean those jobs?

Anyone know why Skyway lost the DO Jet deal? Delta paid for training, and pay for many of those pilots. What has happened to them? What is happening at Skyway?

Skyway didn't "lose" the deal. Delta really didn't want to fly the DoJets anymore. The planes didn't fit Delta's "model" of operation. Additionally, Mesa supposedly agreed to pay Delta for the lease payments on the DoJets which amounts to about $2 million a month. Delta still holds the lease - Mesa is sending them a check. Mesa is playing a high-stakes gamble hoping Delta files BK this year which would abrogate the DoJet leases and Delta walks away from the planes.

As for what's happening at Skyway, presumably we're attempting to negotiate with Delta/Mesa/Wachovia about obtaining more DoJets. Skyway really doesn't want to furlough because it would be a waste of pilots that were trained at no cost to us. Additionally, the company really wants to grow.

Time will tell what happens next. Wish us well.

Peace

Slaves on a plantation had absolute job security.

So I guess you're saying all the Mesa pilots were loaded up on ships
and sent to the US for the purpose of being slaves to Johnny O?
And after getting here, they're chained up and can't leave? What
a dumb thing to even imply.

Just curious, but what are your average MEL's per acft? Not that it has any bearing. Just trivial info for my own peace of mind

hmmm... i can only speak to the CRJs. you'll probably see more in the 200, than the 700/900. most comon is the APU inop. flew a 4-day last week, 5 different A/C, no MELs. i can't say that i've ever flown one with more than 2 MELs.

I'm confused Spitfire. Your profile says you fly the EMB 145. Before you thank the rest of us for taking mainline jobs, thank yourself.

I swear, MESA is a fricken cancer. Somebody find the cure already
