I am looking for a site or store that have cool model airplanes i can mess with. Anyone know a cheap place or site i can get some. Is there a hobby shop in NYC. I realy want the ones you can build yourself. HOURS of FUN, not to mention kill time.
thanks

ahhH, cool site, but not exactly what im looking for, maybe i shouldve been a little more specific. I am not looking for R/C planes you can build but 'model' airplanes that dont fly but just look good like a Boeing 747. I've seen ads in print magazines for models but they are already assembled, i want to put it together myself with glue and sh*t like that.
thanks anyway jn99.
anymore suggestions?

Have you looked in just about any toy, hobby, or department store anywhere in the country?

Are you looking for a specific aircraft type?

ya, i looked at a few by 34th street in Midtown. buncha Bullsh*t, no model airplanes. any leads??
I want to get a Boeing 747 or maybe a Cessna would do.

Nice! but i dont drive, im one of those lowly New Yorkers who take the subway everywhere. Can i order stuff online? If not, any other sites?
ahah, sorry to be a pain

Tower hobbies,

There used to be a place down on 27th street don't know if they still exist, but they had really cool stuff. Can't remember the name.

midtown.... Nashville?

awsome, im buying a Revell Boeing 747-400 with Rolls Royce engines and British Airways decal model kit. cost me 18.50 plus shipping. the scale is 1/144th... BTW, what the hell does that mean?! its 1 144th of the actual size of the real plane?
any thoughts

One inch on the model is equal to 144 inches on the real thing.

In other words, if your wang were 72 inches long, a 1/72nd scale model of it would be an inch long... :D
