A bit cocky there Maverick. I am sure he makes more than you do. Don't think CAL won't be immune from this process. You may be flying for CAL/UAL in a year or so... But at least you will have fun flying in Afghanistan to think about...

Ahem..he flies an air superiority fighter. They don't go to war.

Sorry scrapdog....that was too easy. All in fun...

but ease off on GL a bit...he seems to be the only person who thnks positive at times!!! Might not be right but its better than 75% of the gloom and doomers in this industry.

You hit the nail on the head. Any large merger obviously needs DOJ approval - which is quite the hurdle in itself. I know General Lee likes to spew worthless knowledge out of his cakehole - but all of that is fodder unless any DOJ action takes place.

TBD...

Until then G. Lee can continue to think/dream he is impressing everyone with the fact he flies in the right seat of an airplane that absolutely impresses no one (except instructordude of course).

Oh come on now! Listen Goose, it is wonderful that you serve our country and fly over Kabul late at night while I fly to Rio. Congrats on that. Keep kickin arse and enjoy United. I enjoy my airplane just as much as you enjoy your fighter. That's wonderful, but just remember that you can't fly formation when you go back to EWR or CLE, and no more dropping bombs. We don't do that in the airlines. Don't confuse the two, please! For GAWD SAKE, try to remember which one you are in. If you ask for a left break for the pearch in a 757, you might be denied! You may be a freakin GAWD in your advanced fighter Iceman, but back in OUR world, you are an FO flying out of one of the three armpits (ok--2 armpits and 1 crotch pit) of the nation---EWR, CLE, or IAH. Come back to reality Viper.....

Bye Bye--General Lee

I agree Gen with some of what you have to say.....but that was very weak.

Go take a bath in a tub of vagisil and you will feel better.

Oh come on now! Listen Goose....

So, you're telling me he's mounted up behind you? I somehow always knew you were a catcher. :)

I give this merger stuff a 90% chance of getting nixed by the DOJ, an 8% chance of us (DL) hooking up with NWA, a 1% chance of Ted, and a 1% chance of a combo therein.

Outstanding. Now you're disrespecting our military pilots too! Tell me, are you jealous or just downright ungrateful?? I'm glad you're content to enjoy Rio while your fellow pilots may be getting shot at somewhere in the middle east. It takes a big man to point out the fact that he is living the "good life" flying to Rio and back eating a first class meal to a guy who had spent way too much time crapping in the big desert. A simple thank you would probably be appreciated and would most certainly be called for.

Then again, you seem to routinely overlook the fact that there may, just may, be a calling higher than "almighty Delta Pilot". What a worthless assbag you are....

I don't necessarily feel that military pilots are better or more qualified than civilian pilots, but I do most certainly feel that they are better than you.... What a small man you are, General. You, more or less, suck.

Ladies and gentlemen...... Mr. Doug Taylor..... oops, I mean Mr. General Lee.... He'll be here all week! Tip your waitresses and buy the military guys a drink!

Doug Taylor? As in jetcareers Doug Taylor? I really don't think that the General is the same guy.

Oh come on, if you read it again I said I thanked him for his wonderful service. (Can you read?) I also told him this is a website for airlines (majors), and that I hope he doesn't confuse the two when he comes back. I certainly am NOT jealous---I told him I love my plane just as much as he loves his beloved fighter jet. Good for him, and me. I am over 40 and can't enlist in the military, so instead I will continue to fly troops over there (we do MAC charters on occasion), and we always upgrade troops to first class when there are open seats, and we usually board them first when we can (we did on our last tour to Germany). That's the best I can do as an FO at Delta. But, I sure do love it.

And no, I am not Doug Taylor, atleast not this week.

Bye Bye--Doug Lee ;)

The flying here in Askrakistan is fun. Not...

Heres a letter from Doug S at NWA. As a person on another message board put it: "bla bla bla, chances are we're merging, please dont' be mad, bla bla bla".

January 11, 2008
In light of today's intense media speculation about possible consolidation in the airline industry, including reports that Delta Airlines' Board of Directors is meeting today to discuss pursuing merger talks with us and United Airlines, I wanted to address this issue directly.

Let me also lay out some of the principles that will guide our decision-making in this area going forward.

First and foremost, I want to reaffirm what I have said before: in any merger discussions with another airline, you can be assured that our Board of Directors and management team will analyze any possible transaction very carefully.

Most importantly, we will carefully consider the impacts on our own employees and ensure that the outstanding employees of Northwest Airlines are included in this process. The right transaction could be of benefit to our employees, our shareholders and the communities we serve.

Consolidation has been a feature of the airline industry for many years, particularly since deregulation in the late 1970s. Northwest Airlines and our current network airline peers are themselves products of consolidations.

With our restructuring, we are positioned better than most of our peers to operate profitably. However, the significant increase in the price of fuel, from what we had projected in our business plan, puts extra pressure on our ability to maintain this level of profitability and reinvest those profits back in the company.

Further, we cannot control or predict what other airlines or airline shareholders may do. Doing nothing could be our worst alternative. If we wait to react to what others do we could be left with options that are undesirable or with no options at all.

You can be sure that we are giving this very important issue the serious attention it deserves -- and that we will weigh carefully the strategic implications of each course of action available to us.

In the coming weeks, there are bound to be many more stories about consolidation discussions in the media. You should expect us to continue our policy of not commenting on any rumors or speculation on talks with other airlines. I will provide you with further updates just as soon as we are able.

In the meantime, thank you for continuing to make Northwest Airlines the best we can be for our customers and our co-workers.

Doug

Why does he even bother with these lies anymore? He has to realize that all of the employees stopped listening to him years ago when he started raping them.

Yeah pretty laughable stuff huh?!
