I heard Republic is lookin for 1500 as a min for new hires, is this due to insurance reasons or just a company min they use as a rule for hiring new people.

1500 is for all airframes now....a buddy of mine in training now says they want 121 time now as well....no flame....i think its just as ridiculous as the next guy

Strange, have to go get 121 experience to work for a regional......Anyone see the writing on the wall?

Could it have been, that the ones they were hiring, we simply a little over their head and not making it through training, or needed alot of hand holding? Hence taking longer to get through, and messing up their manning predictions?

Either way, definately interesting, maybe they will start requiring 1000PIC soon too....

haha i work there and i dont disagree with that statement

You have to work hard to fail the training at republic!

what I was thinking!

the only way u fail training is if u F up in the sim (my opinion) b/c you cannot fail the tests that RAH provides. Im not saying they are easy but to fail them you have to fall asleep in class a lot...

theyve failed 6 people on simrides in the last week....ya always lose a few...everyone says the 170 training is like club med compared to the 145....lost a few in my class....does RAH have a rep for easy training???

I agree and this is not a bash on the company....but i can think of a few senior guys on the 145 that helped initiate the program and made it alot harder than it needs to be....This is not a jetstream....a perfect example is memory items...expressjet has 6 or 7 we have around 30 last time i checked...

Thats why you guys have to hope to go to houston for sim. They had no clue about CHQ's call outs and crap. I gave them a hand out of all the calls when I went through and I think they are still using it to this day.

I learned from them how Express Jet flys the 145, not quite the same a CHQ....It made for a fun time when I took my initial.

1500 and 121 should be a requirement here, that way this pilot group can have a spine when it comes to contract talks
