CONGRATS

You think I bitch a lot on here, you should see how much I bitch at the school :D

Thanks again everyone...great to read the kind words. I'm kind of frustrated at the school situation tonight so it was nice to read about this stuff.

Thanks again

PS
CFII Oral 9am Saturday
CFII Flight 11amm Saturday unless we get lightning and thunder and bad stuff. Rain is in the forecast but unless we're going to pick up ice, I'm going. Thunderstorms on the other hand...I'll wait until Monday.

Hey Mini, where is it that you go to school? i'm wondering how you're able to do you're CFI and CFII with in a few weeks of the commercial? i know it's how your TCO is setup, but our CFI is a long drawn out process used to suck precious pennies out of students...hey when i got my COMM about a month ago they threw me a parade, from the terminal to the bar, ticker-tape and everything...

They usually go right into the instructor program once the commercial has been obtained. The II is done under 141 as the initial and the I is done under part 61 as the "add-on". I was able to get both the I/II quite a few years ago at this same school in under two weeks. They have the "Instructor" program down to somewhat of a science although I hear things have changed quite a bit in the past 6+ years out there.

Basically what he said.

The CFII is under 141 so it's a 15 hour minimum. 1 for the spin ride, 12.5 training and 1.5 for the check ride. My instructor and I are flying Monday morning and we pushed back the check ride until Monday 1(oral) and 3(flight) due to sh!tty weather hitting the area tonight/tomorrow (or so I heard). That's fine though...I still don't get the FOI stuff very well.

Well, I aced the FOI written...but that was a while ago and now I've kinda gotta throw it together at the last minute after (stupidl) not looking at it for over a month.

The problem I'm running into was I studied the test (dumb) and what I used to do (for all the other writtens) was study the material and THEN Took the practice tests. That way I already knew the material. The stuff I'm stumbling on wasn't even part of the written test(s) that I took.

I've got two days though to get through it all so that shouldn't be a problem. Plus, I'll have about an hour between my last flight and the beginning of my oral to cram some crap in there.

What is interesting about the FOI is a new CFI will think "it is only a hoop" to jump through. The FOI is a very simple, quick course in some of the aspects of teaching. Just enough to scratch the surface on How to Teach. As you gain teaching experience you may find that the principles you had to memorize will be applied to your teaching. It is just a new "tool" for you growing tool box of knowledge. So just place the tool in your tool box. At some point you may find a need for it. But, at least you will have it when you need it.....
