Trip rig 3.75:1 = 6.4 hours / 24 hours total time away from base or actual block - whichever is greater.

Duty rig - Continuous duty overnights (aka stand-ups) = 6 hours or actual if greater.

time away from base 1 for 3.5
duty day 1 for 2 (used to be 1 for 1.75)
min average day 5 hrs
min day 3 hrs ( used to be 4:30)

Can someone pls spell out how this works for the common idiot (me)?
Right now I get a min of 4.0 every day I work. I also get block or schedule whichever is higher. Most 4 days pay about 21-22 hours. Seems like lately I get a lot of 6.5 -7.5 on the first 2 days and then 4 - 4.5 on the second 2 days.
How the heck does average 4.5 work? Does that mean I will only get an average of 4.5 hours for every day I work? Are they saying you only get paid 18 hours for a 4 day no matter how much you fly?

if you fly 1 hour a day for 4 days you would get 18 hours. (4.5 per day)
If you fly 6,6,4,2 you would get 18 hours.
If you fly 7,5,2,5 you would get 19 hours.

You would never average less than 4.5 hours per day.

It SUCKS!!!!!

This is definitely a pay cut. Almost every 4 day has at least one day where you fly one or two legs and it is less than 4 hours and the min guarantee kicks in. They are asking for a lot of trust that the 4.5 average day, 13 hour duty day, and the 1 for 2 duty rig will improve trip pairings. I've always been told that you just can't utilize the 717 anymore than it is currently being utilized. So how does a 13 hour duty day improve pairings? It's just more airport appreciation time in Atlanta, Baltimore, Orlando to cover potential irregular ops.

I did the numbers on trips and what drives a lot of the hours was the trip rig. That is the hours away from base (report release) devided by a number, like 3.5. 4 day trip of 12+24+24+12=72/3.5=20.57. That would drive higher numbers for pay than the above posts hard flight numbers. You have to use all 4 and use the higher of.
