Does anyone know of a source of information for reading about the military and flying careers within it? I have been throwing back the idea since highschool and wondered where I can get some straight answers about the job. Mainly looking for specifics on Air Force, Marines/Heli-, and Navy. Thanks

As a Coastie Pilot, I'll have to put in a plug for my service. Just another option that most people don't know about. We've got the Herc, HU-25 (Falcon 20), and HH-65 and HH-60 helos. We also have a sqadron of helos in Jacksonville that are armed, and shoot at drug running boats. I'd guesstimate 1/4 to 1/3 of our helo guys are former Army, Navy, and Marine guys. Many get a fixed wing transition. They simply didn't know about the Coast Guard when they first started flying, and decided they prefered the mission and or lifestyle of the Guard. I'm definately not knocking the other services though. If I had to do it all over again, I would be flying fighters in the Air Force (or at least tried). PM me if you want more info.

It took all my willpower to stop staring at your avitar so I could read your post. Where was she on Saturday morning cartoons when I was growing up?
