So I read some article about how violating a TFR could result in "military aircraft giving you an unmistakable signal to land". Just wondering, what the "unmistakable signal" is. Does the pilot violently start pointing downward????

Aim 5-6-2, 5-6-4

Twinkling wing roots!!! :D

They guy on your wing points suggestively at the guy on your 6 and let's you decide maybe?

In the two interceptions I have read about, the F-16 passes in front of you dropping flares. That's to get your intention, and make sure u don't fire a sidewinder at him.

You are all wrong. I heard somewhere that they do that Top Gun maneuver, where they fly upside down, then pull up on top of you. The guy in the back seat takes your picture, while the driver gives you the middle finger, then points to the ground.

Mom, I can just see them trying to do that. An F-14, about to fall out of the sky, goes over the top of a C172 (or an Aeronca, one of the latest interceptions). Yep, makes sense to me.

Mom, you need to go back to the kitchen and whip up some more AliceBToklas fudge brownies.

I always thought they flew an F-117 equipped with a special tunnel and connected it to your 172 and then a special forces team would board your plane like in Executive Descision.

I'd like to see them try to keep up with me when I'm going at the speed of heat in my J-3.

Then the intercepting pilot debriefs to "Charlie", and makes mad love in her Miramar house, then enters a flat spin from the jetwash and ejects.

Is that SOP?

You gotta love this idiot.

This is the aeronca that recently got intercepted. This moron flew into a no fly zone - got intercepted - 3 flares were dropped - the F16 clearly passes through the field of view of the dumbarse pilot (see picture) and yet he still doesn't do anything.

Then he says he flew close to the Stadium AFTER he got intercepted because he wanted, qoute "see what all the hubbub was about."

They oughta revoke his license for such gross ignorance. He should be happy he didn't get shot down.

Usually pretty pro-GA here but gotta go with Matt on this one. Looks like one of those 'I think I'll just get in ma plane and head on down to Flariduh'.
This guy probably hasn't called FSS in about a hundred years.

Yea, I know those guys, they think knowing V-speeds is memorizing a bunch of superflous information.

Unmistakeable signals

20MM holes appearing in your fuselage qualifies as unmistakable. ; )

Hopefully that wasn't a reference to the report the link sent me to...a Cessna 206 lost to a parachute entanglement. That's a downright scary thing, and it does happen. Used to be we protected the reserve handle like our lives depended on it...especially in the days of chest mount reserves. Today, I often see the door come open with nobody giving it a second thought. A little bit of nylon reaching the slipstream is all it takes to open the airplane much like the slotted key on a spam can. The jumper gets strained right through the slot. Nobody seems to pay attention to their reserve handles, and I'm surprised with the zero p pilot chutes we don't see more get squeezed out of their pockets on the ride up or on the exit.

I flew with one of these guys a little while ago. Wasn't sure what a steep turn was, how to perform a stall, or the configuration for slow flight.

And he was a 500+ hour private pilot.

Gotta love the weekend warrior.
