Military Airspace over ORD yesterday - 7/22/04

Jumpseating out of ORD yesterday afternoon on UAL, I listened in to ATC on Ch 9 to find out what was going on. Heard someone on Center asking for higher, only to be told there was active military airspace over ORD. When asked why, ATC said she wasn't allowed to say.

Anyone know why?

From her reply it didn't sound as if it had anything to do with Air Force 1 being there.
