Any of y'all know how many pilots are Mile High Club members? More than half? I heard somewhere to join you don't have to be 5280ft AGL. That doesn't make sense though. How safe is it to join as PIC in your opinion? That brings a whole new meaning to the words "safe sex!"

THE PILOT IN COMMAND'S IMPROPER INFLIGHT DECISION TO DIVERT HER ATTENTION TO OTHER ACTIVITIES NOT RELATED TO THE CONDUCT OF THE FLIGHT.
These words will live forever.

If you feel you must partake, why not rig up a curtain, get a discreet pilot friend (right) to take you and your gal (or should I say guy) on a flight?
Who needs a curtain?

yule need at least a meat curtain!

I don't know what the hangup is on this mile high thing. Sounds like somebody has been reading to many stories in penthouse forum.

When I'm doing it, I want to concentrate on doing it, not on what that fart smelling, prone to mechanical failure, 100 buck an hour piece of crap airplane is doing.

One of our FAs had a pin on her uniform that said mile high member. When the FE asked her what it was all about, she said, (No lie) "My boyfriend gave it to me. He went to europe last week, played with himself in the bathroom of the AA flight, and thought of me!" She was all excited.. :D

I also would like to know if it is a statute mile or a nautical mile. If it is a nautical mile, you will need to be at 6,000 feet. Good Luck!!

Obviously you will need to be 6076 ft AGL to join the "Nautical mile high club" otherwise 5280ft AGL will suffice. A blanket will probably be better for cleaning up than a curtain, espically if your doing it in a rental aircraft! Also if this is the case, make **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** sure EVERYTHING is sterilized with disinfectant wipes as well. I've always wondered if its usually the norm to take off your headset? It seems like the chords might get tangled easily in the heat of it.

You think about this alot.... Don't you.....

And we have another nomination for the Dorky Pilot thread.

Of course! Any pilot who doesn't is probable one of the following;

1) A religious nut, puritian

2) Asexual

3) Hates to fly

Lets face it. Isn't this the real reason we all learned to fly deep in our conscious? I can picture all of you nodding silently. Flying is very serious business. However there should be more to flying than just memorizing FAR's, making X-wind landings and flying an ILS. Few things would give most pilots more of an adreline rush than joining the MHC IMO. This makes going out clubbing seem like studying for an English midterm! Even non-pilots will be able to relate to and appreciate the status of this exclusive club. After all you don't even have to be a pilot to join. Let me conclude by saying that anyone who is attempting this as PIC must be very careful. The last thing we need is a fellow aviatior killed trying to earn his wings, not to mention a media and non-flying public that already has a fear of "those little planes" post 9/11.

no...I fly because I get to push all sorts of neat buttons...seriously

right now? just the nav/com buttons...and the PTT...but some day hopefully i'll have lots of buttons to push...

I've become very good at pushing my mother in law's....so an airplane should be no challenge...

maybe its not the buttons....maybe its the talking...I love to talk...maybe thats it...

I flew over a 'nude resort' once at a low altitude ..... it wasn't at all what i expected it to be *shudders*

Ever since then i've questioned my reasons for becoming a pilot - some things you just don't want to see. :)
