Dude... there are plenty of places to stuff jets .... Look at JB.. they found all kinds of places to put their blue equipment... And in the toughest neck of the woods..
There's plenty of room to put one or two planes but there aren't plenty of desirable places to stuff in a new hub. MCI is ripe for the picking yet airline after airline gives up. The yield just isn't there. JetBlue moved into an unused terminal at JFK as AA pulled TWA out. AirTran needs another hub for some of those 100 737s. I agree that MKE is a good place for it. MKE itself isn't a growing metropolis but nearby Chicago's Northern suburbs are.

Oh wait, hold on to your seats, Tim's fantastic growth plan (phase 1) just announced...no new cities just upgrades from Skyway stuff and some MCI connects.

Effective April 1:
-- Milwaukee-Columbus -- All service upgraded from 32-seat regional jets
to 50-seat regional jets.
-- Milwaukee-Flint -- Two of four weekday flights upgraded from 19-seat
turboprop aircraft to 32-seat regional jets and the addition of
-- Saturday service on the 32-seat regional jet.

Effective May 1:
-- Kansas City-Columbus -- Launch of new service on 50-seat regional
jets. The new service -- twice daily on weekdays and once daily on
Saturday and Sunday -- will be the only nonstop service in the market.
Columbus passengers will be able to connect in Kansas City to Midwest
Airlines' flights to major destinations in the western United States.
-- Milwaukee-Dayton -- Addition of a third daily roundtrip on a 32-seat
regional jet.
-- Milwaukee-Duluth/Superior -- Addition of a third daily roundtrip on a
32-seat regional jet.
-- Milwaukee-Louisville -- All service upgraded from 19-seat turboprop
aircraft to 32-seat regional jets.
-- Milwaukee-Pittsburgh -- Three of four daily flights upgraded from 32-
seat regional jets to 50-seat regional jets.

How embarrasing, why even make an announcement, Flint, Duluth, Dayton, this should bring in millions.

What's up with Tim's strongest position ever statement from todays USA today?

"It's nice to be wanted," Midwest CEO Tim Hoeksema says with deadpan wit. But Hoeksema, who has run the airline for 23 years, says the offer would take the company down the wrong path.
Midwest's directors decided unanimously that the offer was too low and that the airline doesn't need a partner to succeed. Because of cost-cutting in recent years, "We are in the strongest competitive position we have ever been in," Hoeksema says. "We think we have a lot of value here."
I hope he remembers that when were in contract negotiations!!!

I'm laughing so hard!

Uncle Tim said "the offer would take the company down the wrong path."

He's pretty arrogant to imply that he's (excuse me while I cough) been taking the company down the right path!

There are only a few reasons why Midwest even got on its feet: 1) Uncle Tim comes from a silver spoon family, 2) he benefited from Kimberly-Clark's ultra-deep-pockets and big-corporation financing for many years, and 3) Midwest has super-loyal employees who have always had more motivation to make Midwest a great airline than Uncle Tim, himself. With those ingredients, who couldn't start an airline?

If Uncle Tim and Carol Skornika wind up on the street, there's no doubt that they'll probably wind up richer than ever -- unfortunately. Hopefully, though, their legacies as great business leaders (I'm laughing) will go right down the toilet.

Ideally, I'd like to see how they feel getting thrown out on the street -- preferrably without severance, pension, and health insurance, like the hundreds of people they've done that to.

Cripes . . . change the names of the players, and you could be talking about our airline . . . . maybe we should merge, sounds like nothing much would change.;)

I agree..get it over...lets face it..this thing is good for both parties... except Tim's ego........

So..maybe MidEx could offer up Pelosi exclusive use of one of them 80's? Might get em some more pull in Washington ..eh? How bout they add that to their strategic plan..?

When we get to the "right" price - it will be funny to watch ole Tim do an about face. He is not going along because we are not offering him and Carol enough money yet. These types are all alike - just got to find out what the current "price" is...
