Midway Airlines announced today it will offer flights in six major East Coast markets beginning December 19, 2001.

Midway will serve Boston, New York LaGuardia and Newark, NJ, twice daily with one morning round-trip and one evening round-trip from Raleigh/Durham International Airport.

Round-trip service will be offered in Orlando, Tampa and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, on a daily basis from RDU.

One-way fares to or from Raleigh-Durham will be USD$49 for travel from December 19, 2001 through January 6, 2002 and will be available on all seats on all flights. Between January 7, 2002 and February 10, 2002, the USD$49 fare will be available on a more restricted basis.

Reservations for travel can be made beginning Wednesday, December 12, 2001. To take advantage of this fare, passengers must purchase tickets within 24 hours of making a reservation, and no later than midnight on January 6, 2002, whichever comes first. The fares are non-refundable, and travel must be completed by February 10, 2002.

"This USD$49 fare will make it very affordable for families to visit their loved ones over the holidays or take a vacation to one of our Florida destinations. We are looking forward to providing low fares and convenient service to this community's most popular leisure and business destinations," said Robert Ferguson, Midway Airlines president.

In the corresponding periods of travel, fares between any of Boston, New York-LaGuardia, or Newark, NJ, on the one hand and any of Orlando, Tampa or Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, on the other hand will be priced as low as $79 for one-way travel.

Midway will offer its award-winning Carolina Class service throughout the plane, featuring assigned seating, leather seats, friendly flight attendants, and hot towel and mint services for all passengers.

Reservations can be made by calling 595-6399 from the Triangle area, 800 446-4392 from outside the area, or through travel agents.

MidWay doomed again

Uncle Bob didnt learn with a bunch of airplanes you have to charge at least enough to pay for the gas so he is trying the same formula with a few airplanes.Midway will never survive much less prosper as long as fergusen is at the helm.On the bright side the captain will be payed at least 50 hrs per month.

I'll be optimistic and give em 6 months, tops.

Let this horse die!!!!!!!!!
