I don't think the aspect of Saddam's oil is any secret.
After we get Iraq stabilized, that oil, which has never been much of a benefit to the average Iraqui citizen, will play a central role in the rebuilding of Iraq into a modern representative republic.
Certainly, the conversion of an official sponsor of islamic terrorism into a peaceful participant in the world will be good for everyone, and a stable supply of crude oil will help all of the world's economies, not just our own.
By the way, the possibility of a REAL election in Iraq, rather than the sham which is being trumpeted in the streets of Baghdad as an affirmation of Sadam's popularity, is a very frightening idea to every arab ruler. Democracy is the best antidote for terrorism.
