Yeah excatly. Starting in the 30's is absurd. I am sure it is the low 30's too. Then you will probably in the 30's for a loooooooong time.

Michigan just announced they will loose another 5000-6000 jobs with the closing of auto plants in Michigan, Toyota is having second thoughts about coming to Michigan because of the union organizer’s activism. On top of that housing starts are down 15% and our wonderful populist governor is proposing to give poor people 1B in health benefits, source of revenue unknown, but most likely a tax increase on businesses and residents of Michigan. Now is the time to invest in Michigan it can only go up. I think

but most likely a tax increase on businesses and residents of Michigan.

I agree Granholm's not a prize, but health care in our state (as everywhere) is in crisis and drastic steps are needed. Don't be so quick to complain about corporate taxes, since you don't pay them. Actually, they've been in decline since the '20's(!), and most corporations pay much less in percentage than individuals.

If corporate taxes were brought up to 15% or so, your and my tax burden would decrease with little impact on productivity. Oh, and we should reduce the size of Big Brother while we're at it. Afraid they'd take their business off-shore? They are already, and we're not taxing the cheap goods as we should. More burden for the individual.

I respect your ideas, pilotyip, but don't feel bad for our captains of industry. They've mostly sold us out already.

I actually declined a job offer from them a couple months ago. They have several Citation Bravos and don't pay that great.

Ya.....but they are hiring....might be an opportunity for someone to get some quick corporate jet experience ad move on to greeneer pastures...(-_-).

Flier dude, yes the Corp tax take has gone down. However, I ran my own business in Michigan between flying jobs, 3.5M in sales 20 employees. There are so many taxes in the state you can not avoid, Single Business tax, which is a tax on employees, worker compensation amongst the highest in the nation, unemployment taxes again a tax on employee. These are part of Michigan's anti-business legacy. Pro =-business attract jobs, Michigan doe not. Granhome ran on feeling of compassion in gov’t. That does not pay the bills in your company, which enables you to pay employees.

Yeah but if I remember right. They make you sign a two year contract. So moving on may not be that easy.

Hey ACA what did they offer to start at?

Oh you pay them! you pay for them with the loss of your job when that company decides to relocate to another state (Like TN or TX) because they are sick of getting soaked.

Most of the 30K plus jobs that were "lost" in Michigan last year were not lost at all, they simply went to another state.

explain that, governor.

NJ offered me 31K, but also told me that they start people between 25 and 35K depending on experience. They wanted a one-year commitment. The schedule is 6 days on call and three days off, however, they will use you on at least one of your days off they said. Maybe if they offered a little more money I may have taken the job. They also said there's no guaranteed raises. It all depends on how much money they make.
