I'm thinking of attending the AirInc Fair in MIA in June. So far the only airline attendee I'm interested in is Jetblue.

Are these job fairs worth the money or are they rip-offs?

Discuss.

If the reason you are attending is Jetblue, then save your money. Their "competitive" online application system does not know if you attended or not.

As for your question and interest in discussion, this is one of the more "discussed" subjects on this board. Do a search for AirInc, and spend all day reading everyone's rants. Then you will hear from the people who got interviews and subsequent jobs from attending. Then make up your own mind what to do.

Kit Darby and his Air Inc capitalizes on the dreams of pilots. What he's doing is no different than airlines that charge you $$ to apply. He's a salesman at the county fair that sells you snake oil. You can succeed in aviation and get your dream job w/o him. If I can do it w/o Darby so can you. Dont' get me wrong. I don't blame anybody who attends, I'm just anti-Darby.
At one of Darby's recent job fair, he had his personal friend as a guest speaker; an AA captain. He pumps you full of sunshine up your rear end then he takes your $$$.

I would like to know what "sunshine" this guy is blabbering!!! And who actually believes it!!

Depends who you are looking to impress? Airtran, AWA, CX and pinnacle does utilize this forum to find interested applicants. I know that I scored an interview with CX because I showed the interest, effort and $$ to be in DFW in JAN. Persistence does pay off eventually. Good luck.

I went to one in Dallas, and I think it helped me get an interview with AirTran, but I agree that it doesn't sound like it helps with Jet Blue at all.

Search the forums, because this has been discussed alot, and you might be able to find the info you're looking for. Good luck.

It would be worth it just to get on with Caribbean Sun Airlines. They pay pilots like most companies should.
