:nuts:AirTran Passenger Threatens Others

ATLANTA -- Passengers aboard an AirTran flight last weekend had plenty to worry about when a fellow passenger became agitated and began to threaten them, using the microphone on board the plane.
Officials say David Dwayne Sidler began pacing the aisle wearing sunglasses and acting suspiciously on a flight number 48 from Las Vegas to Atlanta on January 21st.
According to an affidavit filed in U.S. Federal Court, Sidler also asked a fellow female passenger if she "remembered 9/11" and then began talking to her about the plane blowing up and people dying. According to the affidavit, the woman became visibly upset and was shaking and crying.
Investigators say Sidler continued to act suspiciously and asked a flight attendant about the cockpit door and the operation of various lights. They say the flight attendant requested Sidler return to his seat and she then informed the captain of the plane of the situation. Somehow Sidler was able to grab the onboard microphone and announced to the entire plane that a bomb was onboard and they were going to "blow up."
Officials say Sidler indicated he had used meth.
Four Atlanta Police Officers that were on the flight then attempted to restrain Sidler. They were able to handcuff him after a 2 minute struggle, and handed him over to federal authorities upon landing.
David Sidler has been charged with interfering with a flight crew and could face up to 10 years in federal prison. He is currently out on $25,000 bond.
Sidler's initial court appearance will be next month. Officials say they will seek the maximum punishment allowed in the case.
