No, Mesa is not like other regionals. Other regional pilots attempt to increase their quality of life/pay. Mesa just under cuts you when you make improvements in your contract, because it seems the pilots at Mesa haven't figured out that we are stuck where we are at without the majors hiring, and should improve their contract, instead of being the leader in the dive to the bottom.
Well, I sure didn't vote for our TA.
"Leader in the dive to the bottom" . . . I'm so sick of that catchphrase. As for the "leader in the dive to the bottom" . . . Our TA was signed years ago. I really think it's more accurate to point the finger at Delta, Northwest, and other majors who've FAR MORE RECENTLY taken it "up the kyber" without actually walking out . . . and they're supposedly "experienced professional unions." They're responsible for setting the tone industry-wide far, far more than pathetic little Mesa of 3 years ago. I forget though. .. . it's ok for them, because THEY"RE majors, and they didn't have a choice (WTF, OVER?!?!), because it would have been too hard to walk away from a (still) cushy high paying job.
MESA PILOTS CAN'T IMPROVE THEIR CONTRACT, at least until the amendable date.
MAJORS ARE HIRING . . . . and a ton of Mesa pilots are going there. Plus JAL, Emirates, Cathay Pacific, and elsewhere.
Guess the majors don't give a crap about which crummy regional you work for . . .maybe the regional pilots should do the same.
You sound like a Mesa pilot . . .. if you hate it so much. . . LEAVE. Skywest is hiring in droves. And win the respect and admiration of all your fellow annonoymous kvetching flightinfo regional pilots. Well, except ASA (cuz you'd be whipsawing them), and Comair (cuz guess who's gonna lose alot of flying to Skywest, probably and sadly).
