in case you havent heard yet...

Bethune to lead Aloha Airlines in "Next phase of development"

Didnt JO go to Hawaii only because he thought Aloha was about to tank? What will he do now? Stay and keep losing $300 a flight? Buy new airplanes and lose even more every flight? This is awesome news for the Aloha guys.

Mesa pukes; If you dont know who Bethune is, better find out before posting stupid comments.

Bethune is not all that you seem to think he is. I am sure that JO and GB dont get along. This will probably just turn into a pissing contest. Unfortunally, I am sure that Mesa has more cash on hand than Aloha.

Agreed but with that being said the man does have a fairly reputable track record up to this point. CAL was not in good shape until he took the reigns if i remember correctly.

Even if he's some sort of Airline god, why do you think Mesa pilots give a flying fart?

Let him rune Go! into the ground and lead Aloha into everlasting glory!

WE

DONT

CARE!

But the whole "mesa pukes" thing makes me think that are are some real a-holes out in the islands.

You know, in all seriousness, I wonder if he's going to re-try the Aloha/Hawaiian merger?

I think it would be ironic if the merger will go through this time because monopoly fears have been lessened due to the presence of a "new" competitior . . . . i.e. "Go".

Ironic, that is, if you island guys actually want to merge. If so, you'll have Mesa to thank! Wouldn't that be rich!

You may not realize this, but people with low opinions of Mesa are not limited to people on the islands.

Really? Never would have guessed!

<sarcasm>

Everybody (!) loves YOUR airline.

Actually, I'm well aware of the fact that flightinfo is mostly Comair and ASA guys. Mesa bashing is par for the course. I've never seen any gripes on here about Mesa that wouldn't apply to any <current> regional (except Skywest, possibly). Fact is, regionals are sweat-shops, one much like the other.

Nah, where I work is nothing like Mesa. I have a friend or two that worked at Mesa...its like a "whole nother world" over there apparently.

No, Mesa is not like other regionals. Other regional pilots attempt to increase their quality of life/pay. Mesa just under cuts you when you make improvements in your contract, because it seems the pilots at Mesa haven't figured out that we are stuck where we are at without the majors hiring, and should improve their contract, instead of being the leader in the dive to the bottom.

Hey man, I feel left out. I'm XJT and I hate Mesa.

Well, I sure didn't vote for our TA.

"Leader in the dive to the bottom" . . . I'm so sick of that catchphrase. As for the "leader in the dive to the bottom" . . . Our TA was signed years ago. I really think it's more accurate to point the finger at Delta, Northwest, and other majors who've FAR MORE RECENTLY taken it "up the kyber" without actually walking out . . . and they're supposedly "experienced professional unions." They're responsible for setting the tone industry-wide far, far more than pathetic little Mesa of 3 years ago. I forget though. .. . it's ok for them, because THEY"RE majors, and they didn't have a choice (WTF, OVER?!?!), because it would have been too hard to walk away from a (still) cushy high paying job.

MESA PILOTS CAN'T IMPROVE THEIR CONTRACT, at least until the amendable date.

MAJORS ARE HIRING . . . . and a ton of Mesa pilots are going there. Plus JAL, Emirates, Cathay Pacific, and elsewhere. Guess the majors don't give a crap about which crummy regional you work for . . .maybe the regional pilots should do the same.

You sound like a Mesa pilot . . .. if you hate it so much. . . LEAVE. Skywest is hiring in droves. And win the respect and admiration of all your fellow annonoymous kvetching flightinfo regional pilots. Well, except ASA (cuz you'd be whipsawing them), and Comair (cuz guess who's gonna lose alot of flying to Skywest, probably and sadly).

-i gotta agree, I feel left out as well. I come over her to flightinfo after I'm done taking a big drag off of the crackpipe.

man, you are delusional! the majors couldnt bargin for sheeit lately because the airlines've been losing money hand over fist, and having that bancruptcy gun pointing to their heads didnt help. Mesa 3yr ago was a different story. Mesa WAS making money, good money even, and had the barginning chips to make decent work rules and pay. This makes you mesa guys, well, at least your MEC a bunch of scumbags. Chances are, you werent even working for Mesa 3yrs ago. But, for all those new guys there, you all should see about that shinny-jet-sydrome problem. You are just mortgage your future on a interest only loan, all the while the bottom is falling out.

Soverytired does have some good points. Scope relief is one of the reasons Mesa is so big today. It created their ability to thrive...which can be said of any regional.

Mesa better find something to do with that cash prett fast besides burning it in Hawaii . Maybe soverytired can tell us what the interest rate is on the money Mesa BORROWED to help them victimize and terrorize Aloha?

Rich will be when Mesa's credit rating tanks about the same time Bethune re-fleets Aloha while Delta and United $hit-can your operations.

You guys will all be singing the blues hawaiian style.

We dont want to merge nothing. We kind of like the tag team approach with your CEO.

I read on hawaiisairlines.forumsplace.com that AQ is hiring? also any additional recalls at HA? Any truth to that?

Man, those 3 go a/c out there must really hard to deal with... Airways said the same crap when SW went to PHL with their 6 a/c.

See, capitalism is a beautiful thing, cause if Go sucks as much as you say it does then everyone else will excel and you should be HAPPY. It seems like everyone here want to live in some kind of socialist country where "your company owns the flying" I hear Cuba is very nice in the winter, won't have to worry about other airlines stealing your flying there, have fun!

Beats me. Glad you realize that's borrowed money. You wouldn't believe how many Mesa pilots don't know that. OTHERWISE:

Don't care. Don't care. Don't care. Did I mention I don't care?

Hurry up and put Go! out of business so you Aloha/Hawaiian pilots can get back to competing against each other, gouging the locals, and finding someone else to blame your toilet-grade stock on. (not that Mesa's stock ain't in the crapper as well)

dont forget so we can grow and hire more of you into jobs with better pay, better work rules and better QOL. :)

Glad you realize Aloha is a private company and does not issue stock

soverytired:smash:

 I still think you are Hackett

Why do you guys (Island / Aloha) worry so much about a RJ operation that only has 3 RJ's, and is loosing money? And apparently is not that great to ride on.

Yes, well, to be fair, I used far too many commas in my sentence, leading to possible mis-reading of my normal bs rant, if you catch my meaning, that is to say, the toilet grade stock comment was for the hawaiian portion of this sentence which was probably not the best of grammar and now that I'vechecked Hawaiians stock it's actually come up a bit so good for you and by you I mean Hawaiian airlines keep it up and you'll be back at your 52 week high of $5 and change.

(I don't even know who MH is.)

whose worried? We were ready for this beef from the beginning! It's funny how now JO is scared once a real tough guy comes in the room. We'd have kicked his ass anyway even without Bethune, but it will be fun to watch JO try to lie and blame-shift his way out of this one.
