Starting a forum takes about $60-$70 per year. The vBulletin software that the lounges are running is the expensive part, something like $150+/year for a license. But there are other, FREE PHP bulletin boards out there.

The hardest part about starting up the board would be giving the other mesanites a heads up...

I've got a vbulletin forum already up and running at www.airlineempires.net and I'd be more than willing to provide private forums for Mesa (or any airline for that matter). I'd need a moderator, and he'd be able to set up the password, and all requests for that password would have to go through him. This way only Mesa pilots would be able to read it, and it would be outside the control of ALPA.

mesalounge had an active dialogue going between two candidates running for mec chair, plus angelo's opinions and suddenly it is closed. now one of the moderators is starting his own forum to "avoid" AH interference. hmm. good guess i would say.

as far as mgmt requests, etc. ignore these ludicrous requests. if you get more than 2, then a kind word from my attorney suggesting a harassment lawsuit is in the works if they persist.
