Hiring
mins: 1000/100
15 CRJ200s on order/20 options - first revenue flight planned for Oct. 05
Avros and Saabs will stay in service for at least 10 more years(planned)
Current contract from Jan. 2004 covers all three fleet types

Do a search for more info

Had a buddy(mainline FO) walk an resume in, followed up w/ one by email, think I'll fax next week just to be sure, any idea when I might get a reply?

Thanks.

adam,

Fax it in now and get it in the pile. Update it once a week if you don't get the call soon. You won't be getting on anyone's nerves.

Good Luck

p.s. Message to everyone reading this - If you get hired at Mesaba, don't turn your nose up at a Saab thinking you "deserve" a jet. We have a pretty senior pilot group (for the most part) and there are a lot of people in line ahead of you that have been through a lot over the past 5 years. You will be working with some great people, especially on the Saab so take what you get and smile. We have had a couple of spoiled types leave class when they found out they didn't get the Avro and truth is we don't want those kind of people at Mesaba.

Respectfully,

Fly

do your research ,but I think you will find Mesaba is one of the better regionals out there, its been my experience that I have been treated as a person not a number, the training is first rate, quality pilot group and well maintained aircraft...the only part missing was the growth, but now that has changed I dont think you could find a better place to go right now.
Ref fly's message,he is right on the money,I have flown both and I dont regret my time on the Saab in fact coming from a GA backgound I think it made me a better pilot...and after all it is ALL turbine time, and you will get a chance at a jet eventually, its my guess that in time some of the older saabs will go away to be replaced by more crj's

good luck

awesome - thanks a lot guys, sounds like a great company - hope they hire through july

The Saab in many ways is more fun anyways!

Unless you are talking about July of 2006, you have NOTHING to worry about. Hiring is going to be very strong through at least this time next year, when all the CRJ's are on board. But that is just the first 15.

If you want in, send in your stuff NOW. Get seniority while you can.

I also echo the comments about the Saab. Cool plane, and don't be mad if you get it. Most of our pilots will be flying it even at this time next year. It is a great plane to start on and you will be a better pilot flying the Saab than the CRJ or Avro. In other words, it's better to start there, especially when you upgrade to it.

Good luck to all who apply! It is a good company to be at.
