"who else has a 4 hour min day?"

No one else has it. Air willy has a 3.0 but theirs includes some exceptions, we have the same ALPA negotiater as Air willy and she assured us our TA gives us a step up on them in work rules.

Our 4 hr min comes in big time if we get Jr manned/ Drafted to work a turn. I.E we get time and a half so say they give us a DTW-TOL turn about 20 min each way. we will get our 4 hr min day pay at 150% = 6 hr of pay. min

Pay scale is nice to look at but once again it is the work rules that make you the money.

Everyone is pissed because we didn't reach our goal on the pay scale but you gotta look at the whole thing.

She would have had a hard time justifying her paycheck if she wouldn't have at least told you that. Amazing that anyone would trust the assurances of a lawyer.

DoinTime, I do believe you're jealous. There is soo much soft money to be had in this TA it has the effect of adding about 7-8% above the hourly rates you see.

And I didn't think I needed to site her sourses but the power point presentation had a comparison chart. And No one else has a 4hr look Forward min day pay.

Your comment about trusting a lawyer is really reaching now, she our negotiator/lawyer and has been in the treaches with us at the table for 2 1/2 years. It is her job to do the very best for the mesaba pilots.

I can't link you to the power point but here is the just of it.

Mesaba TA will take us from none like to PCL and MAG to the top of the industry is 4hr look FWD

ACO: 4:00 (Look Back)
ARW: 3:00 (Look Forward)
CMR: 4:20 (Look Back)
EGL: 2:00 (Look Forward)
PCL: None
HOR: 4:00 (for single duty
period trips only)
MAG: None
TSA: None

Keep in mind look back is almost worthless.

Let me know if you would like an explnation of FWD v Back.

"O.K. , I'm stupid. What is "look forward and look back".

No I had no clue like most of us either, til it was explained to me I should have just explained it in the last post, but it was getting a little long.

look back is like this say you have trip that goes

day 1 =6hr credit
day 2 =2hr credit
day 3 =6hr credit
well looking back you meet the 4 hr per day because the first day you flew 6 then 2 then 6 = 14 hrs which is more than 4 per day.

look Fwd is where the money is you get 4 hr per day that you work no looking back to see if you made up the diff on a nother day of the trip. so this example you would make an extra 2hr pay over look back.

with our new ta any time we show up to fly we get 4hr at the very least every day of the trip.

Your 4hr DPM is valuable. Don't leave out XJT's 2 hour DPM and 3.75 for trips picked up on days off. Both are "look forward." A stand-up/high speed picked up out of open time is paid as 2 DPM's so a pilot would get 7.5 hours minimum for a stand-up, etc. XJT's NC has proposed a real rig package with Trip/Duty Rig's as well as a better DPM. The DPM they proposed was an average of 5 hours per day (4 day trip would credit at least 20 hours under the DPM rule). Who knows if we'll get it but we are going to try!

SAM :
Thanks for the info, good stuff you guys were left off or comparison charts since your contract is about to be brand new they did want to compare our new TA to your old info.

No one else has it.

Allegheny and Piedmont.. they BOTH have min days of 4 hours.. look forward AND look back...

PDT and ALO had that in their contract years ago and still do through all of the concessions they had to take...
