Right before northwest awards the Jets............hahahhahahahah.......
You know they are competing for that flying, that's why they have to take concessions. NWA has narrowed it down to three airlines right now. It's between Mesaba, XJ, and that airline founded by Gordy Newstrom...I can't remember what the name of it is though. May the lowest bid win.

"If you want to fall behind on your peers, aviation is the job for you"--the story of our lives at Mesabi. A huge career dead-end. All of you prospective new-hires looking for PIC time: take note of the 6-8 year FO's here. There are as many as 200-250 lifers here, the majority of whom are in MSP.
Many are seeing the realities, even if we grow, and are fleeing.
Abandon all hope, ye who fly here!!!

The vote concludes at 1300 central, 1400 eastern time today, Monday, 27 Nov.
A press conference is set for 1600 central to announce the results of all three Mesaba Labor Coalition votes.
Am told that as of yesterday, 75% voter turnout.(those eligible who have cast a ballot). Could be a lot better.

Looks like 25% don't give a damn.

Hopefully, they'll be the ones to include their resignations at 4:01 today.

................they could be the lucky ones.

Ratification margins are never given prior to voter deadlines. Maybe "never" is to strong of a word, but I'd at least say it's a margin of "98% never".

"98 never" ? You think 98% will vote it down? or are you saying that a 98% voter turn out will never happen. I don't understand but i ain't the brightest.

The Tentative Agreement passed today by 68.35% (352 votes in favor) with 515 of the 574 eligible pilots voting.

The Mesaba Labor Coalition will be holding a Press Conference at 4 p.m. CT today to announce the results of all three TA’s.

I didnt vote for the contract in 2004 and I wouldn't have voted for this TA, making the percent lower than it is now. I think pilots are affected by the same same personality traits that make a woman stay in an abusive relationship. The hope that they will not get beat as hard, if they just try hard the guy will love them and on and on. I got tired of feeling like Tina Turner at the hand of Ike and I am glad I left.

My only regret about leaving is that I wont be there to tell the new crop of pilots who are about to get on there what terrible decisions they have made with their lives and careers.

I'd buying mair stock right now.

And 2 years from now there will be a fresh crisis!!

Watch out XJ folks, you may not get what you thought you were getting - time will tell!

By the way, didn't Wychor say you'd "hold the line", or was it someone else?

Glad I didn't get furloughed so that a bunch of pu$$ies would cave to a sham bk..................................... Oh wait, I DID!!!!!

Yet another "growth" contract is signed. Fool you once...

And 2 years from now there will be a fresh crisis!!
Or liquidation of one of the red tails, or merger with another major, or a new 1113 is filed due to some new sham horror that the employees will have to bear.

Good times... Good times...

Hey KMOX, I seem to remember you being one of the cheerleaders of the concessionary pile back in 04. What happened? R U ready to admit I was right? Guess we both saw the light - some of us sooner than later.

You seem like the fair weather fan type to me. Who is your favorite team this year?

Very sad indeed. How is it that this industry is so full of liars and crooks?
So which will happen first; We pilots stop accepting concessions or we run out of dino-juice to power the planes?

Don't worry pilots of XJ when were done with our contract at Comair, we'll make yours look good! But only for a short while because Mesa will suprise us all and stay at the bottom then XJ and OH will be 2nd and 3rd lowest and will have to go back to the courts..

ha!

I actually had to read this one twice! I laughed both times....I sure enjoy your posts....but i am sure i might have hoped to have bought more MAIR stock then i had already.....

As predicted, the Mesaba pilots will get every penny they are worth.

But just like Mesa, they have no right to expect the rest of the industry pilots to bail out their pathetic choice with any type of future financial assistance.

If and when any opportunity comes again for a new contract, ALPA pilots should not be required to foot a single dime of dues money to "improve" their lot or assist them in any possible self help.

They made their bed and if they lie quietly in it and demand nothing from others in the future, fine.

If they want assistance to help make their lives "better", a la Mesa.........................I say, "Let them eat cake" !

eagle you are a jerk off, we are not asking for anything, oh and I don't need money because I still make more money flying a saab at mesaba than would I at eagle EVEN with my concessionary TA. I'm supposed to liquidate my company because of want you think you might know about the my situation. I'm supposed to liquidate and start over and be a FO for another 6 years because you think its the right thing to do. If I wanted to be an FO for 12 years I would go to Eagle and swing gear for morons like you.

Fact is all you people like eagle need to stop bitching at mesaba or whoever and start at the root of the problem. This ch11 is 100% legal, unfortunately the laws are written in favor of big business. As much of a sham it is, ITS LEGAL. I guess some people think we're supposed to get raises in bk.

Perhaps you should talk to your local congressman and express your concerns with laws that screw unions and the average american joe. I would also tell them that you or anyone in your family will not vote in favor of anyone who doesn't work to improve workers rights. That would do more good than trolling on flightinfo touting your supposed wisdom of the airline industry.

Why you have to be such an a$$hole, I don't know.

I voted for that last contract because as I was standing in the strike center as a chair for the strike observation committee, I watched us go past the strike deadline. I felt we lost all credibility at that point.

I was never a cheerleader of the last contract. I felt it was the best we were going to get after we F'ed up negotiating past the strike deadline. But I never went around telling people they should vote for it. As far as it being concessionary, we'll have to agree to disagree. Was it industry leading? No. Did it make improvments in just about every section from our previous contract? Yes.

I never recall telling you you were wrong. Were you right? Yes. In hindsight, you were right. I'm not too small of a man to admit that.

But you can just keep hurling cheap shots at me...FlightInfo posting tends to give people some huge balls.
