Can any of you Mesaba or Pinnacle Pilots offer info regarding working conditions (morale), junior domiciles, upgrade info and initial training.

Much appreciated !

Pinnacle is the place to be. Good moral, great contract, great training program, great work rules.......the list goes on and on and on.........

MESAba sounds too much like Mesa......better stay away from that place.......oh and I heard they fly turboprops...those are way too noisy and I don't think they have an APU.

I would go with Pinnacle. Then you are guaranteed to fly a jet.

You know what, no. (those of you that listen to 97.1 or 1270am from 10 to 2 in DTW know what I just referenced)

I totally agree with the above post. The downside of going to pinnacle is you'll need to learn how to accept being snubbed by all the haters at Mesaba when you walk by them in the terminal. You see when you become Mesaba pilot, its a requirement to hate pinnacle pilots even though you cant think of any reason why. Some say it had to do with consessions the pinnacle pilot group took place back in b.c. (even though they actually got a raise) to get the jets Mesaba was suppose to get. Waaaa. Even though most of the pilots of that era are dead, it does'nt matter......must hate pinnacle pilots.

Now if you enjoy being a hater, I'd go to Mesaba.

I wouldn't go to Mesaba unless they guarantee a CRJ900 slot so that you can put the red tailed CRJ900 on your avatar as thousands are currently doing, making sure they know we know what they fly.

They can't be any worse than the GJ guys right?

A lot of tiny dicks posting tonight. They must all work for pinchnickle and their awesome contract.

WOW, who beat you with the ugly stick? So where is the place to be at? I am guessing where ever a stud like you is.

I was dropped on my head numerous times as a child and adult. And haven't you heard? If you wear a cool pilot uniform, you're a stud! Especially if you get to wear your shoulder boards backwards!

I'm guessing you missed the smiley face and intended sarcasm. Lighten up, Francis.

Mesaba Junior bases will be/are ATL, MEM DTW MSP. MSP being most senior. Pay starts on day one of INDOC when you're hired. Hotel single occupancy during training as well. Morale is very good here at mesaba for the first time in MANY years. 9/11, Ch11, Contract negotiations and three base closures had it's toll on the pilot group over the last 8 years. With that in mind most pilots here don't sing from the rafters when good news comes around.

We have a very good 401K match program, Medical is on par with the industry. Upgrade time.... you need a crystal ball. It's all predicated on the flow through program. If Delta takes 9 pilots a month at the same time as we receive the 15 more 900's we'll need 300+ more pilots in 2009 alone. I personally don't believe we will only receive 15 more. There is too much logistical growth at the training center for 15 more airplanes. But that is my opinion.

I share a crashpad and work out at the gym with 9E pilots. Shocker I'm a Mesaba pilot and I have friends that work for 9E. Ignore the childish squables that some people have here. The majority of pilots at both companies are adults and don't lower themselves to the personal attacks. If the guy walking by doesn't nod his head at you, maybe it's cause he just flew for six days and can't even remember his own name, he's tired. Don't assume someone doesn't like you if they don't give you a Gomer Pile smile everytime you pass by.

Take your dick and slam it in a door. Now you know what being "Pinnacle-lized" means. :D

Thanks

I appreciate those of you who voiced a valuable opinion. Pinnacle is advertising a quick upgrade for those with 3,000 hours or more. Is this legit?

It looks like March interviews for both companies. Does anyone know future vacancies with either company. CRJ900/200 etc ????

Wow, talk about needing a crystal ball....

Nobody knows what will be going on in the spring, we could make guesses, but that is all that they would be.

As far as future vacancies... if you get hired at XJ, I can guarantee that you'd get the 900, the 200, or the Saab. If you get hired at 9E, I can guarantee that you'll get the 900, or the 200, and if they somehow merge with Colgan, maybe the Saab, or Q400, or the 1900. (again, all guesses, who knows what could potentially happen to the fleets) Hell, let's throw in the 175 w/ XJ for good measure.

See where we're going with this? :)
