Firefighter: What's your name?
Lance: Uh, Joe... John... uh, Joe-John.
Firefighter: Your name's Joe-John?
Lance: John-ston, Johnston. Joe.
Firefighter: You wanna tell me what happened here?
Lance: Uh, there was a fire, I dunno, I came by and it's... checkin out the fire.
Firefighter: Well that lady uh, Mona? She said that you two were in the building together when the fire started.
Lance: Yeah, she's a liar, cuz I dunno her so whatever, whatever she says is a lie, so...
Firefighter: K, so you're saying you weren't in the building with that woman?
Lance: No, not I! Aright, she started it, aright? Because she was like "I hate my job, I'm gonna burn this mother down!" And I said "You better not... you better not!"
Firefighter: She said it was an electrical fire.
Lance: It was. It was a total electrical fire, it was like uh, the switches had sparks comin out, and the sockets, and uh it was like the 4th of July, man!
Firefighter: Why aren't you wearing your pants, Joe?
Lance: I tripped, and uh then I had to take 'em off to run faster out of the flames...
[coughing]
Lance: I think I inhaled some smoke, will you excuse me one second, I'll be right back.
[runs away in the background]
Firefighter: [into walkie talkie] We got a sprinter. Five foot five, no pants, unkempt... portly.

Just Voted........

YES!!

F$%K Spandex, Special ED... and the rest of these rapist.....

The sad part is. Six years ago, This was a great place to work. Can anyone guess how long this SLT ( what a joke.) have been here?

I wonder if Spandex knows, the only reason he was placed in the ceo position, was because the MAIR and NWA board knows he's not smart enough to run this company by him self and will have no independant thought....I'm sure Steelin and the boys make fun of him more then his own employees do. What a waste of skin...

Personally I don't care anymore if this company survives or not. If this horse-crap excuse for a managment team thinks they will put our pilots, flight attendants, mechanics, and ramp agents on the poverty list, than stand by. If we go down, my goal is to take as many people in management with us as possible. Screw us, screw you.

Message to XJ dispatchers: F*** you! You are all a bunch of selfish sellouts.

yeah, i just voted to authorize a strike...i hope we use this option this time......

I agree - F**k them all.

The Dispatchers were happy because they have a side letter that says if the pilots, mechanics, or Fa's get a better contract, they company will open theirs back up for negotiation. Way to stand up for yourselves you spineless fools.

I would check yes, but I'm a probie and on the street in t-minus 6 days. My support is with you. Can I however if I feel so inclined picket if it comes to that?

What else are you going to do with the uniform and cool hat?

Nice to see you guys are taking a stand. If more pilot groups take stands and Companies go belly up, they will see that we mean business.
Good Luck!

Vote now! What else do you have to lose at this point??? Don't worry, your vote is confidential with the MEC.

In Favor! Thanks for the link.

I think what he means is that he is an apprentice member and not allowed to vote. Not that he is on probation afraid to vote.

Wait....I just voted for a strike but my night school professor told me that I can be held liable by the company. I wanna change my vote. what can I do?

Yup, I'd be sure to lose sleep over that one if I were you... I'm still trying to figure out if they will allow me to vote twice...

So I just read this on the bankruptcy website... They are talking about our newly proposed payscales... Total BS...

Rationale: In crafting its new pay scale, Mesaba sought to maintain reasonably competitive wage rates, enabling it to effectively recruit and maintain employees, while recognizing the likelihood that without lower pilot rates the Company cannot retain its core business with Northwest and/or successfully compete for new business with Northwest or other Legacy Carriers. :angryfire Try maintain quality employee's while only paying them $10,000 /year for newbs after insurance...

Crew costs are determined in large part by the longevity or seniority20 of the pilots that fly the aircraft. Mesaba is in the unfortunate position of having to furlough over half of its pilots as a result of Northwest’s directive to cease jet flying.21 The seniority of Mesaba’s workforce, which is already high, will increase as it furloughs its most junior employees first.22

“Under its current labor agreement, the contraction will increase the average hourly wage of its Turboprop pilots by 16.3 percent.”23 A 16.3% increase in its pilots’ wage costs would be completely unmanageable.

Mesaba’s proposed turboprop captain rates close that gap by reducing wages by 15.12%. Mesaba’s proposed rates, however, do not translate into low costs for Mesaba once the seniority of its work force is considered.24 Though Mesaba proposes reducing the hourly wages of its Saab pilots by 15.12%, the increase in pilot seniority means that Mesaba’s average hourly wage costs (including both captains and first officers) for the Saabs will actually “increase 0.2% from their level prior to the contraction. In other words, the proposed decrease in the pay scales barely compensates for the estimated impact of the increase in seniority on pilot pay.”

In a 49-Saab fleet, Mesaba will be required to furlough all of its current
first officers and its most junior captains.
The result will be a very senior workforce of both captains and first officers. The downsizing of Mesaba’s pilot workforce will make it more expensive for Mesaba to perform its core business (flying Saabs for Northwest) and to bid on future jet flying for Northwest or any other Legacy Carrier.

Section 4.A. of the CBA provides that “[a] pilot in training or who holds a regular, build up, or reserve line, and who is available for duty for a full month will be guaranteed seventy-five (75) hours at his applicable flight pay rate (‘Minimum Monthly Guarantee’).” This means that a pilot shall be paid for 75 hours at his or her pay rate, regardless of how much actual flying is performed. In other words, the guarantee provides pay even where the pilot works far less than 75 hours and even where such non-productivity is due to reasons beyond Mesaba’s control (e.g., Northwest scheduling). Mesaba proposes modifying Section 4 of the CBA by reducing the minimum monthly guarantee from 75 to 72 hours. The cost savings from Mesaba’s proposal
through March 31, 2012, will be $910,202, for an average annual savings of $151,700.

Rationale: Mesaba proposes to reduce the minimum monthly guarantee as one element of a comprehensive proposal to reduce its pilot payroll costs to meet the goals of Mesaba’s Business Plan. Since the minimum monthly guarantee rewards pilots for not working, Mesaba’s judgment is that by reducing the minimum monthly guarantee it can avoid having to ask for cuts from other portions of the CBA that reward pilots for their working time. :angryfire Rewards for not working!?!?!?! How about being at scheduling's beckoning call for 14 hours a day... Try that for 19 days and stretchs of 6 days in a row and tell me that it's not working when you get called every day!!! And for those of us on reserve, this is our only source of income. Can someone please explain this to me how I'm being rewarding by earning strictly guarentee???

I'm tired of reading this... Send these retards back to grade school and figure out how to run an airline. Vote "In Favor".

I am going to crap in the hat and shove it on spanjiers head

the tie is going to be wrapped around some judge's neck

my pants will fly from the airport flag pole

my shirt.....any ideas?

I guess what Spanjers said when our last deal was signed didn't mean much: "This contract should position us well to compete for growth with our partner Northwest Airlines, and it will also allow us to manage our costs through the continuing uncertainties in the airline industry."

Apparently the obvious impending bankruptcy of Northwest doesn't qualify as "continuing uncertainties in the airline industry."

Spanjers reminds me of a pro athlete. They sign a contract, and then bitch when a year or two later they don't like the terms. Total and complete b.s.

BURN IT DOWN.

Hurry before I get furloughed!

Why can't I log in on this link to vote in favor? Is this because I'm still an apprentice member? If there is anyway I can vote - please tell me!
T - 72 hours!
