NWA has decided that that provisions under the new NWA Pilots bridge agreement can be exercised with AWAC’s aircraft becoming available. The deal with XJ management has been pulled off the table due to the developments at UAL and resistance from XJALPA. Again the hopes for growth at XJ have been crushed. AWAC will live to see another day.

WTF over!!!! Sorry XJ'ers

State your source. It's easy to paste garbage on a board. The talks are still in progress and there's more to be seen and heard on the subject. Most people here only see the tip of the iceberg of information. What's below the waterline is more important. When the information finally comes out, intelligent people will respond by saying, "now I understand everything completely."

Wierd NWAC sent the press release to a 9E FO, and not thru Mesaba or AWAC.

1) Don’t shoot the messenger
2) I’m not a 9E F.O.
3) This was forwarded to me via email from my brother that works in the labor relations office at NWA.

How about the real source please... Can your brother give you the source or is someone (on some form of crack) best friends with your sister's cousin's bestfriend's neighbor's former roommate that sent you this?

Yeah, that makes sense. Pohlad and Steenland sit on NWAC and MAIR boards with unbelievable amounts of stock options for both. I guess they just felt sorry and wanted to give away some of THEIR OWN money to AWAC.

Wait for the announcement or get a better source!

PS Good luck to all AWAC pilots, you have held the bar up when others have not, and unfortunately now you pay the ultimate price.

I like the second to last line "Again the hopes for growth at XJ has been crushed."

Not really a line I would expect to see in a NWA company memo. Looks like it is from the Iraqi information minister circa 2003 "...the American army has been crushed on their way into Baghdad."

It's also bad grammer. It should say hope not hopes.

AWAC is a big airforce plane with a frisbee on it and XJ is ExpressJet!!! NOW SIT DOWN AND BE QUIET!

"Again the hopes for growth at XJ have been crushed. AWAC will live to see another day"

Yeah I'm sure this dramatic statement was really included in an offical memo! Whatever dude.....on the flip side, I could see NWA holding off a bit to see how everything balances out. If someone gets the shaft in the Airways family there is going to be some pretty cheap 50 seaters out there that are already financed verses more 44 seaters they have to put money up for. Hopefully commitments have been made and deals have been signed already.....they're hiding something...that's one thing that's known for sure.AD

C'mon... you're going to have to do a little better than that!

Would you all relax, this is just what my brother has heard. SEE ABOVE. I hope this isn’t true. 9E pilots had your back when you signed your CBA for this growth, and we still want it to stay with you. As far as the board members from NWA, they left and then came back. The stock is down from $12.00 where it was five years ago. How concerned are they? If this is true it would not hurt the earnings of XJ anyway. They would stay right where they are today. Believe what you want to believe. I have a harder time believing that NWA will not take the option to get extra 50 seaters while it can.

As skeptical as I am about the authenticity of this "email," introducing AWAC as a third Airlink partner would actually make a lot of sense for NW. Adding AWAC would allow NW to operate 50 seaters instead of 44 seaters, it would free NW from having to purchase the CRJ's themselves, and AWAC is probably over a barrel right now on what to do with their fleet.

No doubt that a very favorable contract (in NW's eyes) could be inked with AWAC's back against the wall.

Who's your brother? I'll give him a call! He's in violation of the gag order.

Uhh... OK.

So you ARE with 9E and this is what your brother HEARD. Well I've HEARD quite a bit and most of it is crap.

Isn't Air Willy going to fly for U.S. Air anyway?

I wouldn't worry too much about AWAC's back being against the wall. I would say we are pretty much in control of what's going on especially where US Airways is concerned. The BAE146's were going away anyway and we can put up to 70 which is all of our CRJ's over at Airways. There are rumors around that are saying we are getting 90 seaters or equivelent for USAIR. I have not heard anything concerning Northwest however.

The reason Yoooooo-nited dropped us is because we wouldn't get 70's, our company is only interested in 90's which are the wave of the future. 70 seaters are a bandaid which is trying to fix the larger problem. Our management (AWAC) has stated to our employees that it wants to grow the AWAC economy of scale and it also wants to find a replacement for the departing BAE146 88-105 seat range.

There are many sources that say US Airways is in better shape than United. Wouldn't it be Ironic if United went tities up and Airways survived
F UAL

It does fit within the NWA scope, but what is happening to the "extra" 14 that would not be covered under the NWA scope.. I see AWAC has 64, scope only allows for 50...

I would also wonder how AWAC's bases/domiciles could fit into the NWA scope as well...

All in all.. good fodder.. Best for both XJ and AWAC...

We have not heard anything about this a AWAC. Three of our owners are ex-nwa people and did leave in gooding standing. We also have a base mx base in MKE which I believe is where NWA wants growth. Our company had said that they were in talks if nwa, but won't tell us more than that. I am sure every regional is also talking to them. It might be a long shot, but not likely.

Not a 9E FO? Maybe a captain? I just sorted through your posting history and found you used "we" under an old express/pinnacle thread. http://forums.flightinfo.com/showthread.php?p=35642#post35642

This implies you are/were at Pinnacle/formerly express. Also your other posts under an old thead Mesaba TA passes shows you using "we" in reference to Pinnacle. http://forums.flightinfo.com/showthread.php?p=280363#post280363

And you also posted in a recent thread title Pinnacle Engine Fire?

I do work at 9E I just don’t really care what anyone’s rank is therefore don’t care to repeat what mine is. So obviously I am a CA if I’m not an FO. While we are at it I take a offense to be referred to an immature flame baiter like Training/8HRRULE. Don’t you what to be called Ramp Control?

Did you change your profile since the start of this thread? Hmmmmm.

And also, I hear there's a couple of unused avatars for free at Denzelavatars.com

Do you realize how delicate the situation is at Mesaba? Coming on here and posting some suposed email without verified sources is jacked and if it is a real email, you and your sources are in violation of confidentiality agreements.

And yes, please tell the newhires that 131.52 in MSP is not a ramp "tower", it's ramp control or just plain old "ramp".

you and your sources are in violation of confidentiality agreements.

The only people that are bound by confidentiality agreements are the ones WHO SIGNED THE AGREEMENT. You should know by now that confidential information is "leaked" all the time.

It is impossible to believe that the only people that know the future of Mesaba all fit into one room.

Interesting, I didnt know that AWAC ran this route MSP-MKE. Could they have been visiting NWA?

Where did you find this?

United apparently asked AWAC to fly for them for below AWAC's cost.

If United thought they could get that from others in the market, why would NWAC do a deal at a price above AWAC's cost?
