PCL FA's are not a part of the AFA. They will not walk out in support of anyone. A ragtag band of CSAs and rampers will hardly give them any backup if FAs walk out either.
That's were my money's at.
The PCL F/A's are part of some never-heard-of Allied Paper and Chemical Workers union. They tried to switch to AFA a while back but the movement never gained any real momentum.
Add to that the fact that most of the PCL F/A's are under 25 and have no IDEA what organized labor is all about, and the odds of them walking FOR THEIR OWN CONTRACT, much less in support of anyone's else are pretty minimal.
As far as the station workers go,,, I have no clue. The 9E ground workers just won organization status a year or so ago, but I doubt they're connected with the NWA F/A's in any way, shape, or form, could be wrong (?)
On the other hand, quite a few of the MSA workers are ex-NW from downsized stations and they're disgruntled anyway. Probably wouldn't take much for them just to call in sick when / if the F/A's walk.
I'm sure that's creating a lot of its OWN havoc in the PCL system, those stations were understaffed to begin with, what's happening now that they're taking a couple people away? Even at stations like CHS or CAK where there's only 7-10 TOTAL EMPLOYEES on duty at any given time, robbing 20-30% of your work staff has to be pretty challenging.
Good luck red-tail employees!
