Just looking for info on mesaba life, upgrades with new aircraft, MEM commuteable? Just in general.. Thanks in advance.

-put out...... or swim...

Start here.

If you get the Avro or Saab, you'll start in DTW or MEM our junior bases, DTW probably being the most junior. As of now we don't know where the first 15 CRJs will be based but a vacancy comes out next week. All indications point to MSP. MEM is very commutable- most people based there commute. Just allow at least 2 NWA, Mesaba or Pinnacle flights to get to work.

All schedules are a minimum of 11 days off. Upgrade times are falling to around 4.5 years as of now and could fall to 4 years. Basically, the more aircraft we get, the more junior upgrade time will fall. Trips are mostly 3 or 4 day trips.

Like any other regional, Mesaba has it's share of b.s. and riff-raff. but what workplace doesn't. However, the people are cool with a share of loonies and jekyl and hyde people. Leave all that aside and you'll like working here.

great

Yeah, I'm still in contract at my current place, when it goes up I am gonna apply. Seems Mesaba is one of the few that is growing, and a stable future along with commuteable MEM from Kansas City, looks like a winner. Thanks for the info. Pay isn't bad, compared to most regionals. thanks for the reply.

-"not bad for a slow 90 driver"

Oh yeah, from day one of indoc, you get paid the 75 hour guarantee. Not all regionals do that- some just give you a 200 dollar allowance. Hotel rooms(your own room) during all training events are paid for.

You get health bennies right away I think or maybe dental kicks in a few months after. You'll get a badge during the first few days so you can jumpseat around.

It will be interesting to see where they put your RJ's. MSP and MEM are pretty much at capacity right now. Once the DTW terminal expansion is done they will have plenty of room for growth there. I seriously doubt NW will position XJ RJ's in a way that will require PCL to displace their resources.

Hey Dointime just a small wakeup for you...displacing Pinnacle out of MSP is a classic NWA trick during contract negotiations. I would fully expect all the first batch of CRJs at Mesaba to go to MSP.

When we were doing out contract you guys MIRACULOUSLY started flying out of DTW...coincidence???

Best of luck in your negotiations but get ready for the roller coaster.
