Anyone else get a call from Mesaba. Two of my friends and myself all got calls within 15 min. of each other. They even wondered if we could be there the next day. I thought it seemed strange with all the other news about Mesaba lately.

Be CAREFUL! they hired me in August and told me I'd be furloughed in November, and then cancelled the furlough two weeks later. Oh yeah, and Memphis sucks a$$.

I know a guy at Mesaba who was going to be furloughed also, they told him, "his employment was seasonal" I thought that kind of sucked

Good luck in the interview.

Interview

I interviewed there the other day. Very relaxing interview, good bunch of pilots. 1 hour HR interview, 45 minute chief pilot interview, written test, Avro ride. The Avro sim was a little different than what I was used to, but I did O.K.

After the interview was done, they told us they couldn't give us a yes/no answer about our interview until the new contract is ratified. They said they will call us as soon as it's ratified.

If anybody wants more info, just PM me.

SPOCKSBEARD:

Are you saying that you are dissapointed that you were not furloughed? That's sure something to be carefull about, not being furloughed.

Shoot! I'd kill to get a seasonal flying job right now. It's got the good part (flying), without the bad part (having to work ALL YEAR).

What can I say, I'm just lazy.

Dan

No i'm not saying that. Who wants to be d1cked around like that - one minute you have a job and the next minute you don't within a month of being hired. Especially after you already quit your well paying freight job and can't go back. All i'm saying is the crew planning department at XJ are idiots. I'm glad i worked there for the 3 months i did because without the 121 checkride i wouldn't have gotten the job i have now. I'm just saying that these guys should make sure they know what they're getting into because the company will lie to them in the interview like they did with me. "An increase in Avro flying and we're probably getting CRJs soon with at least 2 classes behind yours" is what I was told. Don't tell me that when i interviewed in august that they didn't know the avro contract was up for review soon and that the CRJs weren't coming at least for a while. Even with those blatant lies in the interview I knew what I was getting into but I still took the job because it was better than what I was doing at the time, just alot less money. You guys might be getting in at a good time but I thought the same thing. xjcaptain: I'm I being clear enough now???

I hope you're not saying I'm full of it...but I did hear from a former XJ classmate that he was told in ground school (that he was just allowed to start again after getting his avro training cancelled for several months) that they were looking to hire 50 pilots immediately. Excellent crew planning. Hopefully its for a good reason - More airplanes.

Mesaba

Pleas post address to where we can send a resume. I would love one of the year around seasonal positions.

Thanks

Good Luck! I hope this is something positive to look forward to for everyone.

I Just looked at the mesaba www and it is not showing a job opening for FO's.

Not that I dont think you interviewed But, I would like to know when you last turn in a Resume I dont think they have taken any since July. Has yours been of file or have you updated since then.

It is not on the public website but the employee website shows FO job openings. They have to post the jobs internally first. I do beleive they are going to hire. Something is on the horizon...keep our fingers crossed. I heard something about possible ERJ145's....

All be **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED**ed, they are hiring. What the hell is going on? I'm getting way too stressed out!

IIRC...

Comair had new hire classes starting even as the strike started. That would have sucked to go on strike the day after you started class, but at least you'd have a seniority number to go back to after the strike.

I believe that if you are in training you can complete you training including IOE and one revenue flight following IOE and still not be a scab.

Spocksbeard: is this clear enough:

WAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

You were hired, trained, put on line, not furloughed and quit within 3 months. Sounds like XJ should be complaining about investing money on you.

Thats true and the purpose of my post was not to whine about my plight. It all turned out well in the end. They should be upset that I left but they left me with very little choice. I didn't want to leave and wouldn't have in the first place if circumstances were different.

Guess it works both ways sometimes. Pilots leave jobs then are informed by the new company they aren't needed. Pilot's take a job then inform the company they don't need them anymore. As long as pilots are treated like transients it's hard to expect loyalty.
