Is this 'Mesaba' hiring actually for Colgan? LGA flying on Saabs? I wouldn't really qualify that as 'Mesaba' hiring.

The open positions are basically all the jet FO positions. I am pretty sure some medium seniority Saab FO's will grab up those positions and the new hires will go to LGA Saab FO as those FO's will fill in the medium seniority guys. Just a guess though. Oh, and it is open Mesaba positions, for another month at least.

if Mesaba is hiring what is the new hire base and is it for the CRJ900. I saw their min WOW!!!!! it was 600TT and 50 multi. Now i don't think that will be for the 900 flying.
they must be really desperate for pilots if the min is so low. That is the lowest i have ever seen any regional go so far.

So much for..."we fixed it."

In about 2 weeks, it will all be the same anyhow. This thread could as easily be titled Pinnacle Hiring. Although that might be a little off in that the new hires would most likely end up on a prop, therefore Mesaba is Hiring. Either way we are all one now, quit arguing semantics.

It will actually be interesting to see how they handle this in the future. Does the independent Pinnacle and Mesaba hire. Or is it XXX hiring with the new hires going to the open positions after a vacancy award?

They see a need for pilots since pinnacle is so short and it will be a lot harder to get pilots in the future. They might as well pick up some now to replace the "might as well be gone flow pilots" at mesaba.

If only they could have flowed before July 1st of last year. Maybe it wouldn't have mattered anyways. I guess we will see how the arbitrator feels about it.

I think it will be another 12-18 months before you see anyone else flow.

No, no one can force them to flow. There will probably be a fair number of "lifers" who choose to stay. The union did the best the best they could in the flow negotiation but it is too bad that it did not end up that if someone declined the flow that someone else further down the list could take their place. Alas, not so. At this point it boggles my mind why anyone would actually choose to stay at this joint when they had the option to get out to a better place.

There are about 120 pilots who can flow and all of them will as far as I can tell. None of the flow spots will be wasted.

3 or 4 of them didn't flow last round, right?

the above quote....the first part is only my quote, I know for a fact that not all of the future flow eligible pilots will flow. I am not sure about the last batch.
