WARWICK, R.I. -- A gas leak forced a plane to turn around shortly after it took off from T.F. Green Airport on Wednesday.
A representative from the Federal Aviation Administration told NBC 10 that Mesaba Flight 3498 called the tower saying they had been leaking fuel.
Pilots noticed the problem while they were over Putnam, Conn., the representative said. The plane was on its way to Minneapolis.
The plane landed less than 10 minutes later back at the airport. About 70 people were aboard the plane.
The representative said crews will perform an inspection of the plane.
