c8-were done.

Nobody wants to speculate anymore . We have be living off the rumors for 6 plus years. Someone might buy us, but by the time that happens their will be nothing left. We own nothing. We have a Sh$t load of debt (ATA's 500 million debt guarantee) We had 15 million removed from our bank accounts just prior to filling Chapter 11.We are cancelling as many flights as we are operating due to lack of MX(people and parts)

Also as pointed out, were non-union. Staple job here we come.

17days left. Thats it.

Sorry, fellas. That is really crappy news. I met a few C8 guys at the Mesaba Training Center, as we share the sims. Very good people and I'm sorry you are having to go through this. Best of luck.

With that said, how many of you are going to Colgan? Didn't they get most of your planes?

From what I gathered, if the C8 certificate was purchased, it would be just that -- a certificate. Not the people, planes, or anything else. Guess we'll see.

Unless you guys have a base I don't know about, it seems very odd that the airport Raddison in IND had a large room dedicated to MESABA this week (you pass right by it on your way out the back door if you want to walk to the airport instead of ride the 2 minute van - walking's quicker actually).

Either they're hiring ground personnel for IND expansion OR they're talking to C8. Either way, it definitely means more flying... congrats!

There's an add in the Indy paper which says they are hiring FA's in Indianapolis for flying out of Cinncinati. Does that strike anyone else as just a little odd???

I agree that this is weird. Doesn't necessarily mean jack, but I think it is weird that they would go to Indy for Cincy FA's. Encourage commuting for FA's? I don't get it.

To the C8 pilots, I wish I could say "Pedro offers you his protection...." well no one knows anything at this point.

Assuming MAIR bought C8, and didn't integrate the pilots, hopefully the blue genitalia folks have at least some heart and offer preferred interviews for ya'll.

You didn't hear??

I just talked with a NWA guy this morning. The news is all around the NWA pilot group.......

XJ is getting new jets!!

Brand New A380's!! BUT... they have to be 69 seats or less so our Management decided to put Bowling Alley's in them as well. I hear you can get a whicked curve when you're banking!!

(Ahhhh.... I love these long Des Moines overnights!)

H*ll, why not put a stripper pole in and get some real inflight entertainment?

Ok if it isn't Chicago Express..... then what?

Ok so it looks like we can rule out MAIR buying C8. Got any new rumors????

ATA turns down the sole offer for Chicago Express

By Mark Skertic
Tribune staff reporter
Published March 12, 2005

The only offer ATA Airlines received for its Chicago Express regional airline does not meet the criteria for being a serious bid, ATA's attorney told a federal bankruptcy judge Friday.

Indianapolis-based ATA plans to shut down Chicago Express on March 28 because it has been unable to find a qualified buyer, James Carr said.

ATA continues to seek a buyer and might be able to sell Chicago Express even if it is grounded, Carr said during a hearing held via conference call with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Indiana.

Chicago Express serves several midsize Midwest cities, including Flint, Mich., and South Bend, Ind., from Chicago's Midway Airport and Indianapolis.

Jack E. Robinson, a Boston investor who ran a wireless company and worked as an airline executive, has offered up to $100,000 for the stock of Chicago Express.

But Robinson's offer through his company, NatTel, lacks a business plan and other details needed for it to be taken seriously, Carr told the court.

Robinson told the court that such criticism was unfair.

"It's my understanding that when somebody buys a house, they don't have to tell the seller how they're going to decorate afterward," he said.

Robinson argued that creditors would be better off if a company that intended to continue operating the airline purchased it and kept it running.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Basil Lorch III said ATA could request a hearing for next month on the future of Chicago Express. He told Robinson that if he wants to file a motion regarding the airline before that time, he is welcome to do so.

Timing is forcing ATA to move quickly on Chicago Express' future. Chicago Express has a deadline this month to reject a lease on six leased Saab aircraft or face having to make an $875,000 payment.

"bout time to start furloughing and down-grading again, ain't it? Wait, wait, we have to hire a few more first and then we will downsize again.

So I guess I should just stay with going to ASA and not submit a resume with you guys?

Two C8 Saabs siting in SBN (South Bend) with Snow all over them today. However... A CRJ painted in (old) NWA colors sitting nearby. Could it be XJ test flying it?

Hmmmmmm....

Yes, I'm be facetious.

Hiring reqs at Mesaba

Hey would anybody be nice enough to tell me what sort of TT new hires have at Mesaba? Is there any chance that my little 950TT and 600ME would get me an interview or possibly a job with them?

Mins are 1000TT and 100ME. Lately, most have had about 1200TT and 150ME. Some with more coming from other airlines, but most are CFI's. You need to get another 50TT before you can make it in the door. Having more ME doesn't cut it, unfortunately. Go crank out the last 50 as quick as you can.

Good luck!

I would send your stuff in as is.... you never know. Just keep building time while you are waiting. I heard we hired someone in the last year with under 800tt and less than 100multi- but that was just a rumor. Good Luck!

I got accepted for the March 28th class with 1200TT 400Multi. I was also furloughed from Skyway don't really know if that was a factor.

I just received an email from an editor of an aviation business jounal. This person said that BOTH NWA AND MSA MECS signed papers to keep their mouths shut. So how this editor got the info, I have no idea but I will relay it. It is 70 seaters, with NWA fuloughed pilots and Mesaba. Flow throughs are also on the table. Apparently both unions have given their offers and it is now in the hands of the airline managers. So I quess time will tell it the NWA pilot's friends told them the truth, that they were not involved with this. Or if this editor has poor sources. BTW it is a very large and well respected source in the industry.
I hope that both NWA and Mesaba pilots will be happy with their Union's choices. Good luck to all.

I don't doubt what you are saying, but here are my questions.

1) How does Holly find this out when no one else hears boo?

2) Why would NWA pilots give this up so easily? Doesn't sound like they would get much.

3) What do the majority of XJ pilots gain from this?
