Is J4J actually being considered in terms of the whole United growth
that was announced? If so would this be in addion to the 35 aircraft
(200 more captains + 200 more FOs) or would this be for the 35 aircraft
(200 more mesa pilots + 200 United furloughees)? Plus if this occurred
would the United furloughees be trained and given slots first or at the
same time as Mesa pilots? Anyone with any info please share it?
Thanks

Have not heard anything that has to do with United and J4J's. Nothing has been brought to the unoin. If it is true it would be nice to know, but it sounds alittle bit more like anit-mesa rumors out there.

United has J4j now? is this official?
Yes, look in the small print of the Skywest contract.

I thought SkyWest gave preferential hiring - not J4J's - to United pilots.
Look in the United Scope section and the Skywest codeshare agreements.

Well, don't leave us in suspense. I thought it was preferential hiring on a basis to be negotiated later - at least that is what it is at ACA.

For what it's worth...JO posted the other day on the Mesa Yahoo forum that this UAL deal was NOT J4J.

So, of course, it must be true.....

Also, NO MENTION from the MAG MEC about it being J4J.

J4J with UAL

It seems mesa may give preferential hiring to UAL pilots but only on a new hire basis. ie, they would all start in 1900, or right seat jet. Hopefully all have learned that the J4J as Airways designed it, is crap.

Straight from MAG MEC

This was taken from the MAG ALPA BB today.

The MEC now has a copy of the Scope that United Pilots negotiated in exchange for allowing larger SJ to be flown under code share with United, The scope does not require any J4J type opportunities for United Pilots. It simply states that if a participating carrier operates a SJ larger than 50 seats in United Code the carrier must offer employment to furloughed United Pilots; IT does not require the opportunity be in a specific type of aircraft, Employment opportunities are at the discretion of the company. The company may hire into any piece of equipment they desire under our agreement. No mesa pilot will be denied a position as a result of our new code share agreement.

Hope this helps.

Hey WSCRJ,

You left out a small detail the company has to offer employment to Furloughed UAL pilots "on a basis to be negotiated". According to UAL's scope it's not up to the Company but must be negotiated.

I'm sure glad no Mesa pilot will be denied a position as a result of your new agreement.
