MAG ALPA has notified the Mesa Air Group pilots that the CASS system software is now complete. The system is now waiting for FAA approval. Once completed, Mesa will then be a CASS carrier.

Great, now I can sit upfront.

It will make commute a lot easier.

as long as the barbie jets arent weight restricted and bumping bags by the 46th person. Sure, you can sit up front!

I wonder if I am still welcome in the mesa slave ship jumpseat? I can try & fly on one of the Go! Jets here in about a week! Wouldnt that be something if JO was sitting in the back and I got to strap in with his two pilots up front. He would be jumping jack furious back there!!

Some how i dont think the CRJ 200 would ever be weight restricted, in Hawaii (sea level / short legs). Why whould JO care if you sit in the jumpseat. If it bothered him that much I don't think Mesa would be getting CASS. Besides I think JO uses Netjets.

Also Most Mesa pilots that I know would go out of their way to get a jumpseater on. Most of them are commuters themselves. I noticed you position is "in da barrel" does that mean that your a gangster sufer?

I've had JO riding on AWA flights. But that doesn't mean that he doesn't use NetJets.

Mesa pilots are generally militant about getting a fellow jumpseater on board. I think you must be thinking about another carrier or you just haven't had your fill of Mesa bashing today.

That must be it. I just need to bash mesa more. So, just to stay on topic, is CASS going to be running in time for the mandatory training event in HNL next week? (as per the KM letter dated 5/23? I can post the entire letter if you like). That would save Mesa a bundle of cash they can better blow preying on weak little Aloha or Monopolistic Hawaiian.

Island - nice to chat with you again. You don't have to worry - Mesa won't be asking its crews to J/S to HNL in lieu of crew movement tickets. In the ten years with Mesa, I have never seen or heard of the company asking a pilot to J/S to a new hub or in lieu of a mandatory crew movement assignment. I have voluntarily taken the jumpseat to help a revenue passenger get on board but I have NEVER bumped a jumpseater out of the jumpseat to do this.

Have fun down in the Islands and good luck fending off Mesa. If the Hawaiian people stick to their own airlines, Mesa will be gone in no time. However, as it appears, brand loyalty doesn't mean anything down there. They are just looking for cheap tickets. Mesa is providing that and causing some ugly competition. Welcome to a free economy.

Are you sure? Check out the letter to go! pilots thread. I'll sum it up for you. The way I read it the Go! pilots are being assigned to required training in HNL but are now being told they are responsible to get there on their own.

Remember per our CBA your award was a voluntary bid and you are responsible for your own move.

As you know this operation will be operated differently than what you are used to. For this reason you are required to be in HNL on June 6th, for go! orientation and training on June 7th.

Well the fact is mesa has now extended the $39 fare for the 5th time and still has lots of seats to fill. We are already sold out on most of those days and apparently no longer feel the need to extend the sale fares. JOGO is welcome to the last minute walk up fares at $39 while AQ & HA already sold out weeks earlier at much higher yields. Helluva way to run a railroad.

And all this on the back of the employee's.

Islandhopper - why do you have a problem with Mesa Pilots? They have nothing to do with JO opening ops in Hawaii. I dont know too many guys at Mesa that like JO or care if GO succeed's or fails. Most of them are planning on the the later.

Exactly why I DONT have a problem with mesa pilots.

Except fools that like to try and defend JO and his predatory corporate policies just so they can feel better about their continued employment at massas plantation.

Lets move on.

JetBlue will be codesharing with Go after they get their first A330-200
Later this year.
