Mesa Air to Serve as United Express Carrier for 5 Years
Thursday February 27, 2:58 pm ET
CHICAGO (Dow Jones)--UAL Corp.'s United Airlines signed a memorandum of understanding under which Mesa Air Group Inc. (NasdaqNM:MESA - News) will operate as a United Express carrier for an initial term of five years.

Mesa will provide 10 Bombardier Q200 turbo-prop aircraft, each seating 37 customers flying to and from United's Denver hub, United said in a press release Thursday.
United expects the service to begin in July. Specific markets and flight frequencies will be announced at a later date.
United and Mesa expect to sign a definitive contract in the next few weeks.
The Q200 aircraft will replace Air Wisconsin Airlines Corp.'s Dornier 328 turboprops, which are being retired, United said. Air Wisconsin will continue to provide jet service throughout the United Express system.
