Re: Mesa and its problems. Would it be safe to say that Great Lakes would be a better place to be employed, even over Mesa? I know that pay at Lakes is not great. I wonder how QOL, etc is there. Just curious....

Famous lines from Airline History...

Circa 1982: "This Lorenzo fella doesn't seem all that bad..."

Circa NOW: " J.O. doesn't seem all that bad..."

Mesa v. Great Lakes= push...Given a choice I'd go drive a train for Amtrak!

I can sum up this thread in 1 picture

ClickMe

Either that or this guy is so ignorant and desperate for a job he will sell his dignity and self worth by rationalizing what everyone knows as a "bad for the industry" airline. Glad he thinks he will be employed in 2 years after he get's that valuable PIC time....not like there are thousands of other out of work furloughed pilots with more type ratings than his total time.

Maybe... but then again, if there is an opportunty that comes up in two years, and you are still sitting in that right seat (at your wonderful regional, so much better than Mesa,) biatching about Mesa and how you don't have any damn PIC time... well, maybe you'll be all set when the next opportunity comes around... maybe... course in 4 years, if you are still in that seat... well maybe the opportunity after that one... you're only... how many years behind now??

Yeah, just keep telling us all how it's Mesa fault, and oh what an aweful place to work at, blah, blah, blah, mesa sucks, blah, blah, blah, stupid pilots, blah, blah, blah, how could anyone work there, blah, blah, blah, my regional is so much better, blah, blah, blah...

Who cares!!

Just do your job, get your time, and we'll all get together on the other side and have a friendly beer to exchange horror stories about our time at the regionals.

Here's the problem with your senario. Seniority. I don't think you can get everything out of GL that you can get out of Mesa, so then what, another regional, off to Skywest, starting over at the bottom of the seniority list?

If you go to Great Lakes, the best you can hope for is a bunch of Turbo Prop PIC time to advance you to the next level...

At Mesa, worst case senario, you eventually become a senior CRJ captain making 6 figures...

Glad we all agree on something.
