Hey Guys at MESA

I would like to know what is the average time to upgrade on Dash 8 and on jet at MESA?
I heard not to long ago that on Dash you can make captain in less than an year?
Is that true?
And the new contract you cannot come back from F/O in the jet to captain on any turboprop?
Thanks in advance

GOD bless you all:)

True about not moving from jet FO to turboprop CA.

ERJ upgrade is 2-2.5 years
CRJ upgrade is 3.5-4 years
DHC-8 upgrade < 1 year (they have been putting the higher time folks into the dash for an EXTREMELY fast upgrade) in some cases 1 month..

B1900 upgrade is the same.... 1 month to 6 months tops if you have the ATP.

I agree with Otto but I think the Dash is 1 year and the 1900 is 8-12 months, only because we don't have enough sims instructor or sims. The 1900 gs classes are seeing 5-8 weeks between gs and sim. Nice, I get to set at home and get paid.

Otto, you are correct.

Depending on your time and whether you possess an ATP or not upgrade could be less than six months.

I am on the interview board. This is first hand knowledge.

Peace.

How long is this hiring wave going to last? Where is the expansion that is prompting all the hiring? What aircraft and domicile is a new hire most likely assigned?

Thanks!

crizz,

trickle down economics. they are taking delivery of 4 crj's/month this year. all those captain slots are being filled by the fo's thus the need to hire a lot of fo's. i've heard 600 pilots this year.

all regionals seem to be hiring now, which is a good sign for the industry. all the lcc's seem to be ramping up this year as well. hopefully the bottom is behind us.

About 2-3 weeks for a call or the letter.

Expansion on United, Usair, and HP sides. Mostly RJ's and 4 new DHC-8's.

Hiring is indefinite. 60-100 a month are needed.

Online application only.

Fixed the link. Enjoy.

See ya.
