So that would bring a 1st year F/O to what? $14,000???? Highly doubtful.......

It's true. Orenstein's hotline Oct 1. Unbelivable....isn't it?

this paycut will in no way affect the pilot group. This is another of ornsteins attempts to get his name in the paper. They offered the same thing after 911 and(a paycut with a potential payback) it was only for non-union employees. JO just wants to appear to be the loyal supporter to U. He says that the usairways employees should take the cuts. That might be a total of 50 people. We run no stations for U except for LIT, and have very few of our own people on the east caost. Just JO sounding like the good son of U. Rest assured that no pilots here will be taking any paycuts. We don't make enough as it is.

Mesa Paycut Facts

Hey Guys.....the straight scoop on the 23% pay cut is as follows:

1. Mesa management has requested that any management and operational folks employed on the USAirways side of the house take a voluntary 23% pay cut. The savings that will be realized will be sent to Airways in order to help cash flow during the Chapter 11.

2. If Airways comes out of bankruptcy, these wages will be paid back IN FULL plus a bonus.

3. This pay cut is purely voluntary and does NOT apply to the pilots or any employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement.

Mesa mgmt wants to show that they are "in the struggle together" with USAirways. While it probably isn't going to amount to a whole lot, it is highly symbolic.

So that's "the rest of the story"
