A question for MESA pilots. I'm A JetBlue pilot and was refused jumpseat recently by a CSR. He stated B6 wasn't allowed on MESA and refused to let me speak with the Captain. I know we have a reciprocal agrrement with you guys and have jumpseated several times. I don't think he is a MESA employ, but a contractor. Would you guys mind sending me a PM with contact info for your jumpseat coordinator, maybe he can help square this guy away.

Thanks in advance,
The Pig

I think protocal would be for you to contact your jumpseat coordinator and have hime deal with the MESA JS cordinator. PM me if you need Wayne or Jacks email adress.

thats BS I have flown with the Blue man group in the back all the time when goin to LGB from PHX. Go kick that csr in the junk!

Mesa DOES have a jumpseat agreement with jetBlue. I know you tried, but the most important thing to do is get to the captain. These CSR are idiots. Please let your JS commitee know so that CSR can be taught.

Yeah, your probably correct. You guys are welcome on JB anytime.

Fly Safe,
The Pig.

How dare the CSR gate ho refuse your request to talk to the Captain. Who the heck does he/she think they are? It is my personal belief that any pilot should be able to bypass the stupid agent and talk to the Captain. In fact, if you ever have a problem at one of my gates I want to hear about it. At least I can try to get you on the plane by making phone calls or convicing the agent he/she is a stupid ignorant 1/2 human being.

Just my opinion.

where was this?

Pig, can you tell us WHERE this happened?

Sorry for the rude CSR.

Also, we should be CASS soon. Only waiting for FAA approval. Anyone know how long that usually takes?

Spiff. It should be any day now. The last email we got from the MAG was that we are just waiting on FAA ok. They computer system test passed so FAA sign off is all thats holding it back

Yep, happened in CAE. To be honest, I think this guy just couldn't use Unimatic. I'm assuming it's Unimatic for UAX flights.

I printed a copy of the jumpseat agreement signed between the two airlines and listed myself as a nonrev via UAL reservations. Hopefully this will alleviate the problem. Glad to hear you guys will have CASS up soon.

Thanks for the rides guys,
The Pig.

I appreciate the sentiment. I didn't press him on talking to the Captain. I didn't want to start an argument, jumpseat etiquette you know.

Thanks,
The Pig.

Yeh, well, it sucks anyway.

Has anybody ever tried this? Find a sane looking passenger on the way out and ask them to let the FA know to let the CA know there's a jump seater having trouble at the gate. I believe given that knowledge most Mesa captains would get up and go and find out what was going on (and it takes a lot to get a captain out of their seat, so that's saying something....just kidding :).

Thanks to the Mesa FO....

Maybe a little off topic, but...

A couple of weeks back, I tried to jumpseat from PHX-SLC on Mesa. I arrived in PHX and noticed a flight to SLC was a bit delayed, so I tried to catch it. Long story short - the gate agent decided not to help me out - when they really could have - and I didn't make the flight (a Mesa FO was witness to all this). Since I showed up a little late, I wasn't too bothered by it and decided to catch my backup plan. My next flight left from another terminal - a good five minute walk - and while I was waiting, the Mesa FO tracked me down about a half hour later to apologize for the gate agent. While I thought it was no big deal, it showed a HUGE amount of class on his part. I just wanted to send out my thanks. Folks can say what they want about Mesa, but they are welcome in my jumpseat anytime....

It took us well over a year from the time it was first "anyday now" away until it was finally up and running. And once it was up and running we still had a lot of bugs (some airlines not recognizing us as CASS) for the first 3 months or so....

I got bumped out of the jumpseat for a MX guy recently on Mesa.

I am a Mesa pilot and a commuter. This is beyond outrageous. Never request to speak to one of our pilots again. DEMAND IT! If that is not working then get out your light and flash it into the cockpit from the terminal. Get the Captain. I assure you that you will find a beaten down yet professional pilot whom will do anything in his or her power to help you out. I hope you got this clowns name because as a profession we should always ensure that a power-tripping agent is quickly put in their place.

Although the agent most likely did not work for Mesa I apologize to you and to all that this has happened to before. Please do your part and file the necessary complaint.

I wish you tail winds, soft landings, and warm overnights.

FYI 121 and 135 are welcome on board in acordance with our GOM

I thought Mesa was already CASS?

I used to ride the ERJ jumpseat all the time when they were flying out of CLT. I ran into two tools during that time out of at least a hundred rides in the jumpseat. Good group over there. Always did what they could to get me on, successfully the majority of the time.
