MESA integration vote???

Heard from a friend, who heard from an ex-MEC member, who's sister said....

MESA pilots are voting on some sort of LOA/Agreement regarding integration issues in the event of a buyout/merger....

Anyone have any FACTUAL information if indeed this is the case, and if so- what are the issues involved.

don't know about integration, but i know the MEC met personally w/ JO earlier this week and discussed numerous contract compliance issues and narrow-body pay rates (rumor is 737 industry average minus 8%). JO wants a min 2 yr contract extension if signed.

please vote no MAG pilots. take a stand.

The company and ALPA put proposals on the table. Both have been shot down by our current MEC. For those worried about 737's at MESA. I wouldn't be. The MEC is currently negotiating for contract compliance. That is our goal.

Good question and we ask our MEC this daily. We were about to start pickiting this until JO came calling and the MEC called it off last second. There should be no talks until all grievences are settled and the contract is followed. Trust me, the majority of Mesa pilots are fighting the MEC on this one. -Bean

Ya know, at some point we have to step back, and ask ourselves what we are really after. I did not go to mesa, or any other "whore" outfit. I had the benefit of guidance from others already in our industry. Do I know some folks at Mesa? Yes. Are they decent people? yes. Did they choose poorly? YES!! WouldI rather ridicule them for their obviously poor choice, or would I prefer my standard of living to increase? As much as I hate what the whores of our industry have done to us, my ultimate goal is to raise my standard of living to an acceptable level. The only way this will be accomplished is to accept the "whore" outfits transgressions, and assist them in gaining a real contract. Once this happens, I have a far better position to bargain from. As a whole, this industry needs to get on the same page. Not one person I know is happy to be at Mesa. This is energy we can all use to increase their standard of living, as well as ours. Am I happy these guys took a whore contract? Absolutly not. However, I have to ask myself what I really want. What would make me happier, to ridicule the "whore" outfits at my current payscale, or to have nothing much to say in regards to my peers, while enjoying a pay raise, better quality of life, and some semblance of stability. We need someone to step up, let bygones be bygones, and circle the wagons. The question is, who is gonna do it?

rtmcfi, your post was one of the most sound minded posts I have seen on this board in a long time. I have a very hard time sifting through the flaimbait and johnson fighting on this board, it makes it very hard to learn exactly how the interaction between the pilot group and airline management works in contract negotion. I still don't have firm understanding of what the he!! the MEC does and who the freaking represent.

Everyone seems to be able to lay the smack down on a bum decision but when it comes to define a solution you can usually hear the owls owling.

the contract was presented as a take it or leave. if you leave it then freedom will do all the flying for you. its pretty obvious that there were people willing to go to freedom and do all the flying.

only about 80 of the 1000 Mesa pilots went to freedom. the rest were from the street. I even know a guy who was unemployed and turned down a freedom GS.
