PHOENIX, Oct 19, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Mesa Air Group, Inc. /quotes/comstock/11i!mesaq (MESAQ 0.03, +0.00, +19.05%) announced today that in the month of August, Mesa Airlines led all regional airlines in three key statistics reported by the U.S. Department of Transportation's Bureau of Transportation Statistics, as reported in the October Air Travel Consumer Report. Mesa achieved the highest on-time performance, had the fewest mishandled bags and fewest complaints on a per passenger basis of all reporting regional airlines. This achievement is commonly referred to within the airline industry as the "Triple Crown" of operational performance.
"This outstanding result is a tremendous credit to our dedicated and hard working people," said Jonathan Ornstein, Chairman and Chief Executive of Mesa. "We also greatly appreciate the support of our partners, US Airways and United Airlines, who have worked with us cooperatively to achieve this level of operational excellence," continued Ornstein.
"We believe this is validation of our focus on the details of our business," said Paul Foley, Mesa's Chief Operating Officer. "We have worked hard to ensure that strong operational performance is a core value of our entire team," added Foley.
Mesa currently operates 76 aircraft with approximately 460 daily system departures to 88 cities, 34 states, the District of Columbia, Canada, and Mexico. Mesa operates as US Airways Express and United Express under contractual agreements with US Airways and United Airlines, respectively, and independently as go! Mokulele. This operation links Honolulu to the neighbor island airports of Hilo, Kahului, Kona and Lihue. The Company was founded by Larry and Janie Risley in New Mexico in 1982.

Easy when they call their times, passengers think they are flying on a major airline, and they don't handle bags.

SkyWest does that each day before most people have taken their morning dump.

Yea. Ok. 39 planes mostly flying out West. CLT must work out great too because of no Acars.

Please explain how ACARS impacts lost bags or passenger complaints? Also, UAL is all ACARS and flies out of IAD and ORD. 50% of the 900's fly out og CLT/

You're right. ACARS is a moot point. This is a positive trend for Mesa. Just look at the only text in the article that was important enough to make bold.

Stock is UP 19+ percent! That's great! Whoo Hoo, Mesa is on the fast track!

...so what's the share price now? Must be good times for Mesa pilots and that wonderful on time performance leading the industry.
