I heard from people there that it's around Jan 08 but people from summer/fall of 07 have already gotten letters for Feb and March 10.
Mine is for May. There are guys in my initial class you havent gotten one. Im guessing 1000 is the lucky number. And im just 27 shy
What was your hire date? Just curious how far back these furloughs will go...
So, what about the quick upgrades? Do you guys all feel that Mesa was just a stepping stone now?I don’t know about the furloughs but the most junior Captain slot went to the most senior pilot of the August 30th 2004 class. He will be on the ERJ in CVG. The Dash-8 in PHX went senior to ERJ. No surprise since PHX is our most senior domicile. The class date for him is in May. That translates into around 6 years to hold Captain by the time he will finish training. Every first officer on property will have at least had an opportunity to have been Captain.
When the ERJs go at the end of the Delta contract (2 years) we will have the U.S. Airways contract looming on the horizon. Air Wisconsin and Republic loaned the money in the merger and we didn’t. They now have controlling interest in U.S. Airways. I think that those two companies will divide up our flying for U.S. Airways in 2013. Long term outlook is bleak in my humble opinion.
That’s my 1 cent worth because I can’t afford 2 cents worth because I work at Mesa.
Hope that this is part of what you were looking for.
Mesa sucks!

Another intelligent posting by a 6 year old.
Someone had to say it.
Because Mesa sucks and the best thing to happen to this industry is to see that ankle weight cut lose from the rest of us.
Fair enough I have been flying professionally for only Ten Years and I have no problem speaking to you in person. My name is Ben Flanders with ExpressJet and by all means I would love to hear your side of the story. If you can prove how Mesa was an asset to airline pilots I would be more then open to hear it. But we all know what that company has caused this career. Good riddance.
You only know what you have heard and base your opinions from hear say.So me trying to tell you anything about Mesa would be a waste of my time just like here on FI. I'm not saying it was a great place to work.I will pass your name along to my friends that are still there so they can set you straight on some things. And if you have any of those guys on your JS or you are on theirs, which I'm sure you will say that you hope you never have to ask for a JS from a Mesa pilot, but whatever. My advice would be to check your attitude before you screw up a JS agreement or get your a$$ kicked by saying anything about their contract "dragging the industry down" before you get educated.FYI..I'm not saying the contract was the best, but you need to get clued in on the other things besides the contract and why things are the way they are. Calm down and listen.
Are you really trying to defend your contract? I have met some cool mesa pilots, but none of them will ever defend that crappy contract. BTW, yes, your contract did drag down the industry to an extent. When my company, AWAC, went into concession talks in 2004 we were presented with a mesa contract and told "to keep your flying you will have to match this".....
.If you read an ALPA magazine every once in a while you might learn something.!
