Anyone know why a Mesa RJ PHX-LGB diverted to Palm Springs today? Sounded like a loss of pressure issue (no masks deployed) but I wasn't sure if it was something worse.

It could have been almost anything, but why speculate on here? oh thats right, this is flightinfo, home of the experts.

Lots of flights divert everyday for a plethora of reasons...Why are we bothering with this one?

Oh, right...because it's Mesa...and because they, along with everyone else that isn't Comair or ASA is a SCAB AIRLINE and DESERVE TO DIE!

I do, however, concede that Mesa Sucks.

:-D

Somehow I see this turning into a PFT arguement......

Perhaps they had a plywood board failure and as such had no place to stay that night and needed rest?

I am bothering with this one because my dad was one of the passengers and asked me what may have happened to the plane. Not being in the flightdeck at the time I figured I would throw it out here to see if I could get a factual response so I could let him know. The Captain just referred to a pressurization issue but there may have been a bigger problem causing him not to continue or turn back. Yes, there are a few on these boards who actually post real info. I know it looked like Mesa flame but there was a legit point to it.

I don't know why they diverted, but property values in Palm Springs dropped 50%!

Not knowing what the problem was, it seems unneccessary to divert to PSP on such a short flight. If it was a pressurization problem, follow the QRH and maybe descend and continue. If there was smoke in the cabin, land ASAP. Just wondering if they used the same thought process as those clowns in the King Air. As I havent seen them on CNN, they must have made the right decision.

Mesa may suck, but that 'suck' applies to their management.

Kudos to those pilots and flight attedants for handling the situation safe and sound. The same goes for the engine problem one in Denver.
