Just wondering if anyone could shed any light on this new rumor that PSA has just been bought by Mesa...This isn't meant to start any flame bait, but just heard from a credible source that PSA has been bought.

I seriously doubt it but I could be wrong. I talked with our DO the other day and he said that he didnt see that happening. But then again who knows. . . .

I don't think Mesa will buy PSA for one main reason. If US Airways were to go under ( and this is still very possible with the price of fuel in the 50s) Mesa would be stuck with the leases on 30+ CRJ200s (plus the 59 50 seaters they already have working for U) that they won't be able to put anywhere.

Now it wouldn't suprise me if Mesa went after the 700's that PSA has. At least they would have some value if U fails. -Bean

I checked with my sources and there is a VERY GOOD POSSIBILITY that this will happen.

Everybodu listen, and listen good, he checked with his sources!!

Thats right, FLECHAS, I did check my sources. Did you know that US Airways needs to get one more deal to close the one with Republic? Do you even know what i'm talking about? Didn't think so.

I cant really see PSA being bought by Mesa but stranger things have happened. PSA is worth a lot more then the additional 125 mil that dad still needs. Anyone know about Piedmont maybe being bought?

Who wants dash-8's?

If Mid-Atlantic can be sold (which I thought was gonna be the savior for US Airways), PSA and Piedmont is game also! Remember all the PSA planes are leased! They own nothing! Piedmont only owns a hand full of Dash 8 100's! If US Airways needs cash, we both could easily be gone. Piedmont only has a Certificate with a AQP on it, that would be worth a small value to someone. I think the only reason Group is keeping Piedmont around is becase leases are cheap, and fuel prices have made TurboProps value increase in markets less the 200nm. Don't think we will be around past 2008 when the leases come back up for renewal.
I agree with what someone on another site said, "US Airways will become a brand name. Kinda like the Hilton hotels, You book a Hilton hotel, where each hotel is independently own and operated."

Actually, A small number of the CRJ's are owned by Airways(I think 10). Most of them are leased however like you said.

Sup, Billy!

I think it's weird that Houk is at PSA now, and Monty Burns is running PDT... A pretty f@rt smeller that we both know thinks that Burns is just a place-holder until we're integrated with PSA, then the whole lot sold to Messy.

Whodaheckknows.

ONE MORE DEAL???

What deal you are talking about?

U (and everyother airline) is desperate for $$ right now. Anything is for sale if it brings $$$ to the mothership. If it gets any worse I wouldn't be suprised to see Lakefield down on the corner with the crack-hoes trying to drum up cash for US Air.

What do you care? I fly with an FO, 2 FAs and 20 empty seats(on average). Who do you fly WITH? FREEDOM?

Look it up. Its not hard to locate IF YOU KNOW HOW TO DO A SEARCH ON THE INTERNET.

Does anyone know what the deal is though with the PSA CRJ-700s getting their tail numbers changed to ###MD from ###PS? The MDA EMBs have ###MD callsigns, and just in the last month or so, all the PSA CRJ-700s got tail number changes from ###PS to ###MD. What's the deal? I mean, it seems like no one would do something so pointless without a point...similar to this thread we're all so interested in.

All of them don't have the MD tail number, only a few of them.

1.These 5-6 airplanes were bought by GECAS exclusively after the deal was struck while in BK for their delivery. All of GECAS aiplanes come with the MD tail number untill changed. Since we only just got these from Tucson, they haven't been changed yet. Since the airplanes were already finished and waiting delivery when we went into BK, they still had the Canada tail number. GECAS took possession of them in order to have them moved to Tuscon and slapped their MD on it in order to fly it to the US.

All of MidAtlantic airplanes have the MD and since it makes sense for the name Mid Atlantic, Airways never changed them.
