You should be prime MESA material - great command of the English language and minimum time - perfect :D

Rottweiller.....fasten your seatbelt......

i actually sent an unofficial transcript printed off the university's site..granted it may have been unorthodox.

When I sent my application...

I sent copies of my transcripts.

They didn't say anything about it. So I wouldn't worry about getting official copies sent to them.

Good luck.

Save your ink and stop send Mesa anything! Mesa is destroying our industry and your getting in line to help. Thanks a lot.

What the Fcuk is wrong with you people. MESA is wrong. But your too stupid to know, right. You just want to fly a jet plane.

 Funny, it seems like ALL regionals suffer from low pay. Why is Mesa getting such a bad rap? And what do you think the mainline boys think of the regionals anyway? Not a 121 guy...yet, but I couldn't survive on the pay at any of the regionals that's for sure.

Is it really funny to you that all regionals suffer from low pay? Mesa has the worst contract I could ever imagine, not even including there pay which sucks. Maybe you should stay in the military since you have no understanding of unions and airlines.

According to http://www.aviationinterviews.com/compare_pay_rates.php Mesa beats XJET FO pay on EMB-145 , and is less than $0.50 under XJET CA rates. Are these numbers wrong, or am I just missing something?

You are missing a lot. Our contract is old and expired, with a new industry-leading contract coming very soon. Mesa’s was voted in less than a year ago, and will only get comparatively worse as time goes on.

raise the bar yourself

So the answer to my question is YES, currently a new EMB-145 FO at Mesa makes more than a new EMB-145 FO at XJET. But thats okay, XJET is operating on an old, expired contract, and will soon have an "industry-leading contract". Sounds rather hypocritical to me you are complaining about Mesa wages when some of your own pilots make less. I know QOL and other benefits mean a lot, but if I were an XJET pilot making less than a Mesa guy, I would be pissed.

Mesa voted on their whipsaw contract during one of the worst times the industry has ever experienced, with the threat of a non-union airline taking all their flying. They still raised their pay (albeit not much) and killed the threat from Freedom. If they had gone on strike for Comair + 3% pay, they might have raised the bar for everyone - and they all might have lost their jobs to non-ALPA Freedom. What would you have done in their shoes?

I sincerely hope both Mesaba and ExpressJet raise the bar where it belongs - decent wages for new hire FOs and CA pay one can finish a career out on, plus pension and other important benefits. I hope they don't have to strike to get what they deserve. Then the Mesa MEC can look to your contract as a benchmark for their negotiations in the future, and everybody can quit their nonstop bitching.

The big picture...

Look at the big picture. Payscale rates are not everything. Mesa has no daily guarantees, and no cancellation pay. This adds up to much less over the year. Also Mesa has many 4 day 12 hr trips, so you do the math. So before you compare remember, QOL and pay guarantees can make a big difference.

teach2fly;

If the Mesa haters have'nt chased you off yet, I just wanted to say 'good luck'. This is an important step in your career and you'll be fine in the interview. At Mesa, or just about any commuter, you'll have fun and make freinds. Like teaching, that phase of your career will also end and you'll hopefully look back with more experience and good memories as you move on to bigger planes.

Thanks for the insight Mr. Intern. I'd bet our reserve guys enjoy their lives a h*ll of alot more with 11 days off instead of 8 of at Mesa. You can't compare contracts that are 6 years and an industry upheavl seperated. How many small jets do you think Express had when we signed our last contract? Plus few people remember our guys actually said no to the company's first line of garbage, which is more then I can say for some as of late. Don't worry some of us really do want to get things right at this level.

Good luck, they are hiring a lot of folks.

Three interview groups in November and I believe already two so far this month.

I can remember a time...oh just a few years ago when Express Jet, NW Airlink, Chicago Express, Comair and even ASA were P. F. T. So is that extra $1 an hour eventually going to make up for the $12,000 it took to get the job?

Yes, I know that there are improvements to be made. And when the contract is up, If I'm still around, I'll be one of the many who are jet captains and will ensure that we fight for what we deserve.

I'm extremely gratefull for the opportunity. After having spent the better part of a year flying charter ops. in a Pigglet. Doing everything from making the hotel arrangements, FBO arrangement calls, fueling the aircraft, loading the bags-even the pod, boarding the PAX, being the F/A, being the Co-pilot, unloading the bags, and on longer trips, doing the service checks on the aircraft.

So I am I going to enjoy flying for Air Midwest? You bet your ass, I will. Is it my 'career airline'? I doubt it. Am I going to keep trying for anyone of the hiring 'Major's'? Absolutely, that's why I'm excited about flying the Beech (faster upgrade).

So good luck to all of you, that can look past all the B.S. that's out there and realize this is just a job. At least you still are paid during training. And, yes Mesa will pick up the hotel cost DURING SIM training. Unlike some others out there.

Who else is hiring? And growing?

"Just a job" - one in which you have managed to lower the standard of and ruin many's QOL - nice, top f*#king notch attitude!

All most everyone will pay you during training in some form and pick up you hotel (those that don't well..............)

Hiring & growing - quite a few that would be a better move than MESA.
